The Oaks Hotel

Hotel and reception staff were very good. But bar staff were unhelpful and no room service.

Good Venue.Clean Rooms.Check in and departure Excellent Service.Polite staff.Would recommend to friends and families.

Our stay here was really good, only disappointment was the time the bar closed and not being able to get a coffee after we returned from our function off site otherwise we would stay again.

Sink was blocked in the bathroom of room 142. Noisy room above and in the corridor near by. One has to walk through where people are dinning to get in or out. Clear signage needed for access to the spa and exits / car park.

Old facility that was somewhat upgraded but poorly. Floors under and behind the had heavy layer of dust Bathtub could be described as death trap as I had to hold onto side glad pane to prevent slipping Breakfast was too late;8:30am Staff were very helpful

Very old property, more like a maze to get to your room which was old, musty and inneed of refurbishment, not good for kids more like an old folks home than a hotel.

Great stay. Pool and amenities were great. Waitress was excellent service during dinner

Amazing staff from reception to restaurant and breakfast. Room was spacious and clean. Beautifully decorated for Christmas Really nice touch with free snacks as no view.

Lovely staff, good parking, warm comfortable room if a little dated. There are lots of up and down stairs from receptions to the rooms.

We’ve stayed here before but were so shocked and saddened by how run down it now is. Our 2 rooms were dingy, desperately dated, had threadbare torn carpet, dark walls with no pictures etc, dark brown tatty furniture, ancient bathroom, and not even bedside lamps. To be fair the bed was comfortable and the room warm but honestly that’s as far as it goes. We were offered different rooms but told they were all on the same corridor and all the same. The whole hotel is in desperate need of care and attention with exceptionally poor tired decor, peeling walls/ceilings, torn carpets etc. A security door which should only be opened with a bedroom keycard is located between the bedrooms and an outside back door which anyone could wander into (despite notice saying it was locked and alarmed, it was actually propped open all day every day) however the security door would not close properly unless you physically pushed it really hard, and people would just go through it and leave it to “close” behind them, not realising it stayed partly open, so anyone could walk into the area with all the bedrooms, from outside. Breakfast was appalling on 1st morning, clearly cooked a long time earlier (and we were not anywhere near the end of service) despite the waitress claiming it was freshly cooked. The bacon in particularly was literally inedible - overcooked/burnt and then obviously been sitting for some time. 2nd morning we were in breakfast as soon as it opened, and it was not great but better.

Hotel has some beautiful aspects but the room we had gave off a musky smell Very old and dated grubby furniture Just needed a bit of an update

Thi is the second time I have stayed here and will stay again

The place is out of date, needs lots of work and painting.
