Our first room was ideal for me and my mum , but the tv didn’t work , so there was no hesitation from the staff and they moved us straight away and wow we got upgraded to a suite which was amazing , my 85 year old was crying when she saw it and the view was overlooking the sea .. plus we had 2 tvs:) Thanks to the staff for making our stay extra special

The Hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the team on reception helped me with any queries or amendments I needed to make to my booking which I was very grateful for.

Central location next to the cliff lift. Bonus of the leisure facilities so made use of the pool and the gym. We did have an issue with given d instead of twin beds but soon rectified by staff and given another room. Definetly book again

Walls are thin and other guests easily heard from in corridors, rooms above and below. Doors old fashioned and very slammy

Excellent would stay again had a superb 3 course dinner food menu first class 👏to the chef 👨🍳 we had no problem asking for the food to be heated up, the young waitress was so helpful getting us a table which we hadn’t booked and she was so lovely tending to all our needs ….. wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Location is excellent..
checking in very easy and was booked in early ( possibly time of year )
Had a good room ( also probably the time of year )
Although nice sized room , was front facing and at early hours extremely noisy with people coming out of pubs opposite and arguing, what seemed like for hours !
But considering the price still feel it’s a good value for money option…..

The kitchen/restaurant staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
The bar staff were also excellent, however it would have been better if the Theatre Bar also had someone on duty at times as, quite often there was a queue at the main bar.
My room had not been serviced before I arrived. I spoke to management and they dealt with me in a pleasant and satisfactory way.

We received an email from The royal to say parking in the square was £7 and your parking permit could be purchased from the hotel. This was no problem we parked in the square before purchasing permit as advised in the email and the permit was £8. Whilst I am not concerned about the £1 the email I received was a couple of days before our arrival so up to date. When I queried this at reception they said that’s what it is and not really bothered. My information also received said check in was at 4.00pm at reception they said it was 3.00pm. I know that is a bonus but when you make bookings you want consistency. Hotel tired and needs tlc but for position and price was good. We opted to pay for breakfast the staff were friendly and good but the breakfast very average. Saying all this for the price I would return.

Room hadn't had a good dust in a long time, fridge had black specks of mould in it,, thick with dust and fluff under bed..
