Travelodge London City Airport

Nice new looking Travelodge with its own bar and restaurant Rooms were fresh and clean however there was a blood stain on the duvet which was a little concerning. The vending machine in the lobby also wouldn’t give us our selected drink and I would say it was extremely pricey for a budget hotel. Great views of planes landing at City Airport however.

I never thought staying in a travel lodge would make me leave a 5 star review. Clearly they have changed and brought their game into the 21st century. This travel lodge has a large carpark (although you had to pay, still very reasonable), reception, lobby, bar and breakfast area all clean, welcoming and modern. Room was also excellent and at the price of under £80 for 1 night, we were really impressed! What really gave it the 5 stars was the staff. From arriving at 1am to checking out by midday the duty staff were excellent. Really impressed, and when we go London and don't want to pay silly prices, then we will be booking again. If course, this is convenient for those using the city airport and have a car, otherwise a little out of the way, but not really far from canary wharf.

Travelodge in the United States is not known to be a very nice motel chain. Well, the Travelodge here in London surprised me as it was very, very comfortable. I did wake up way late past check out and the housekeeping lady had walked into the room and found me laying on the bed naked. Despite this they were still quite kind to me and helped me with some trash bags because my suitcase had broke when I was panic packing and trying to get out of the room. I also had overslept on my flight. Despite double, and even triple bagging the items in my former suitcase I ended up in their parking lot picking everything up because the bag ripped open on me. They even helped me again with more flimsy trash bags, how kind. This time I bagged my stuff with about 6/7 layers of plastic trash bags. I realized then that the bags would break again so I carried my stuff back into the front desk and asked them if they could watch my former suitcase (now trash bags). They agreed and I went out to find a suitcase to purchase. They were very kind. I appreciate them! It was a great stay, I recommend.

I booked online, impressed by the location and price, but was horrified by all the negative Google reviews. The check in staff were friendly and competent. Our room looked out over the runway (excellent!) and the soundproofing ensured no unwanted noise disturbance. Breakfast was fantastic, the restaurant staff friendly and helpful. We ate dinner at the hotel twice and we're satisfied.

Decent service however ,Our room smelt musty and there was an extra two single beds in the room which I am unsure why. The water was luke warm when showering. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows. When leaving we used the toilet downstairs unfortunately it was very dirty and the toilet brush looked like it has never been changed.
