We came as a group of 4 to celebrate a special birthday. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the super gym and swimming pool.

I enjoyed my overnight stay at Village Watford. It was very accessible from the main roads which is why I booked it in the first place.
Check in was good - although there was some confusion regarding check in time. I had been told via prior correspondence that I could check out at 12 but 11 was on the booking - which made for a slightly uncomfortable conversation.
Facilities were great! Good choice on menu for the evening and great buffet breakfast.
Bed was comfortable and warm on what was a very cold night.
Only issue was that I did not have any water when I went to have a shower in the evening. Not a drop - cold or hot - so couldn't brush teeth or shower. It was working in the morning though. Would be helpful to understand why this happened as it wasn't at a bust "shower" time like in the morning.
All in all a great stay though!!

Nice hotel, modern and well maintained. There was an issue with the first room allocated where the heating wasn't working but the duty manager was diligent in sorting us a new room and checking it over before moving us. Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast was good quality and adequate. Issue for us were the bar staff in the evening were a shambles. I had credit on the room to use at the bar and no one understood this (even though you bought it at a discount when checking in), I was charged a tray charge even though it wasn't going to the room, no one knew how to then refund it and this went on for half an hour and even then I just gave in as it wasn't properly sorted and to add insult to injury the pint of Guinness I ordered was only 3/4 full!

Booked two club rooms and one room did not have the expresso coffee maker. When I asked front desk for the expresso coffee maker, they said they didn't have one and maybe it's broken for that room and they couldn't bring another one. I did not receive compensation for the uprgraded room. Also, THERE ARE NO PHONES IN THE ROOM. You have to scan a QR code and then select the hotel from a drop down menu to "LIVE CHAT" with someone. Unfortunately when the power went out in my room early morning, I couldn't find the hotel listed in the drop down menu so couldn't communicate with anyone. I would not book this hotel again for that very reason as you can't communicate with front desk if you have a problem or there is an emergency. Had to get dressed in the dark and find someone to help me.
Bed was comfortable and pillows were hard.

We had no electricity in the middle of the night, which made it difficult to navigate the room in the dark. There was quite a bit of dust and the cold shower was not something we were ready for. However, the staff was lovely! I'm not sure we will stay here again anytime soon.

When we arrived was greeting at checkin. Went to room couldn’t get in door was not opening, had to go down to change key. Bed was cosy, enjoyed wide screen tv. The view from window was nothing but a rooftop. Pitched dark at night so we closed roller blind. There was a big chipped in the bath and I reported and engineered came up said nothing can be done. I went spoke to receptionist but they said they report it but nothing was done. Went downstairs to get deal Black Friday deal and it was a little hassle to do so. I was helped by the manager but going into pub grill they still requested a voucher even though the bar code was on my email.
They said the meal for two was only for one. the bar staff had to go get approval that it was a deal 2 for 1 so we both could have breakfast. They also charged full price each so I ended paying double price. I query this and yet to be refunded on the breakfast deal.
Overall it’s lovely to stay at village. It’s nice friendly atmosphere lots to do Swimming, sauna hot tub and gym. I enjoy Starbucks cafe and its really nice to stay at Village Hotel when there no problem to deal with.

Staff were nice, was a mess up with my room already occupied, was upgraded but felt unsafe so double locked door so same didn’t happen to me. My room had a locked door to the next room therefore it was like I was in the room with them, drunken conversations way into the early hours and then very loud sex mid morning. Luckily had earplugs to actually sleep.
