The Folks hotel simply is great ! lovely sauna, steam room and gym. The Hotel was very clean, modern and comfortable. With a tram stop about a minute away its was easy to get all around Helsinki.

Fabulous hotel. Lovely warm welcome even though my flight was cancelled/rearranged and I didn't end up landing at the hotel until midnight. I was upgraded to a family room which gave me a huge room all to myself! The thing that really blew me away was the yoga studio 😍 a beautiful fairy light lit space I made full use of and enjoyed having a play on the frames around the room too. We have offices just down the road so the location is perfect and I hope to be back one day!

Very good service, but they are reporting me I took some of the room property, a container for rituals or something like this, which bother me a lot!!. I have more than 40 years traveling internationally and never had a situation like this.

Pros :
Staff was unfailingly courteous and helpful .
Breakfast was outstanding .
Local transportation was fantastic for reaching the city.
Local area as quiet unpleasant to walk around.
Cons:
Presumably a local climate means you need well sealed rooms but they can become stuffy with no options for opening the room to air .
Internet was iffy. Most of the time it seemed to work well enough but it was pretty slow and often the effort to reconnect after being disconnected for some mysterious reason, was difficult.

I came over to Helsinki to go to the Slush technology show, but I came down with a virus on the plane over.
I was pre-charged for my entire stay on checking in.
The hotel layout was the most confusing I had ever found - it took me ages to find my room in the back half of the hotel as the signs made no sense.
The room was set to 22degC and even though I turned it down to 20degC, in the morning it was still at 21.7degC - what is the point of giving people a thermostat if you ignore it?
The bathroom was a wet room so everything got soaked when you had a shower.
The skirting boards were painted black and showed up all the dirt they had failed to clean away.
I was booked in for 3 nights, but the illness meant I needed to get home and to the doctors.
The manager totally refused to offer me any partial refund so I got charged 3 nights and 3 extortionate breakfasts for 1 nights stay.

This was my first trip to Europe. This hotel had everything that I was looking for and made my visit to Finland even more enjoyable. The staff was super friendly. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and comfortable and had all of the amenities that I was looking for - nice room with a view, a great workout room, a very nice restaurant and roof top bar, and a very cool space for coffee and to get some work done. The location was excellent also - walking distance to downtown Helsinki, grocery store and an outdoor music venue next door, and nice restaurants. As a bonus it's a couple blocks away from Linnanmaki, the amusement park in Helsinki. All of that for a really good price!

I was in for a visit from the United States and wanted to find a place to stay that was easy access to downtown Heslinki but without the high cost. This place was perfect for me. The staff is exceptionally nice. The place was super clean and quiet with a great little workout room. There is a roof top bar and a beautiful restaurant and wine bar. I enjoy starting my day at coffee shops and discovered the hotel had a perfect spot for coffee and to get some work done. The location was great also. There is an outdoor venue with live music next door and a grocery store also. I walked and took a scooter to downtown. Highly recommend this place and plan to stay here again whenever I return to Finland.
