We had booked a junior suite that appears from the photos to be a 2 bedrooms suite. However, once we arrived at the hotel and saw the room, the manager informed us that there are there two junior suites at the hotel, and they only provided photos of the larger suite. They acknowledged that the room we were given did not look like the photos advertising the junior suite, but the larger junior suite was already booked so they told us they had no other options for us other than to give us an even smaller room. In addition, the parking location for the hotel uses an automated door which closed on our car as we were entering the parking spot. The hotel again acknowledged that this is an issue with their automated door, but even though they promised to email us with their insurance information to cover the damage to our car, we still have not received an email from them. The management and service from this hotel is very poor, and I would not recommend this hotel.

Always love staying at the Donjon. The location is perfect, staff are friendly, great breakfast. The only negative is the bathroom. We had 3 rooms and all 3 the shower water leaked all over the floor despite numerous attempts to stop this. Also a couple of our travellers nearly slipped in the shower. The surface is very slippery.

This is a property with character. Staff was professional, helpful and courteous. Located within the city wals, this was an ideal location to walk around, explore with easy access to shops and restaurants. Very Nice room on the second Floor with separate toilet and shower rooms. Lighting in the main room could be enhanced. Very good breakfast buffet with enough choice to please anybody. Very courteous breakfast room attendant. Quiet area as the mediëval city is virtually carfree. Highly recommended. We took the bus from the train station and a taxi back.

We were greeted by a lovely friendly receptionist who quickly checked us in and showed us to our room.
The room was large and comfortable with a seating area and a raised bed area. The bed was large and comfortable with lovely linen and very comfortable. The bathroom had a separate shower and a bath and the toilet was separate which was really nice.
We had a fridge which was handy and the TV was by the bed and was easily positioned towards the bed.
The room overlooked the garden and was very peaceful. It was too cold to sit outside though there was a table and chairs if we had wanted to do so.
The hotel is in the heart of the Cite and is close to lots of bars and restaurants. At this time of the year (late November) not all are open and some are only open on certain days or times so choice is smaller for eating in the evening but we found that the food was good at all the places we chose.
We were very happy with our stay this being our 4th stay at this hotel and this was definitely the best room we have had at this hotel. We will no doubt be staying here again and really recommend this hotel

This is a historic hotel in the heart of Carcassonne. There are steps to the rooms. It was clean with an accommodating staff. We had a later arrival than planned and the parking attendant waited and got us and all our luggage to the hotel. We were able to access parking after hours also with a code. Breakfast was good. The bar area was lovely. I would stay here again.

Its a great place to stay when you want to visit Carcassone and be inside the walls. The hotel gardens was very nice. The only issue with the room was the carpet and the toilet (very low seat and toilet water splashed onto the seat when you flushed).
