Burkardushaus - Tagungszentrum am Dom

Fantastic location and customer service. Late check-in went off without a hitch. I had to leave urgently to catch an earlier train, before reception was open for the day, and the staff arranged for payment the day after. A special shout-out to the member staff working the breakfast buffet who went out of her way to help a panicking traveller!

The location is simply amazing. It is right in city center, some 10mn walk from the train station. Those less inclined to walk can take a tram to come here, and then there's the I side. The room is small but very tidy, the furniture is either new or very well maintained and the finishing of the walls, fixtures and bathroom are top notch. And still, the best is yet to come, the view from the 3rd floor is fantastic, 50m away from the tip of the Dome. Something I don't mind but others might, is the Christian decoration motifs - not sure the hotel has anything to do with the cathedrals around, I find the motifs acceptable as they're not placed in an aggressive way. Bottom line, highly recommended, I will come again if my travels ever bring me back to Wurtzburg.

Good location in the middle of the old town, 15 minutes walk to the train station. Very quiet location, the loudest are the church tower bells in the early morning, but that didn't bother me. Inexpensive. Very friendly staff. Very, very clean! Rooms are small, but newly furnished, everything you need is there including a room safe. You have to know that it is a Catholic house. If you don't like that, you might not feel comfortable with a cross over your bed and a Bible on your dessert table. The reception is not staffed after 6 p.m. at night, the house seemed deserted in November. I still felt very safe as a woman traveling alone.
