St Christopher S Hostel Berlin

TDLR: surprisingly child friendly Hostel close to the city center at a great price. Bottom line up front I wanted to give my child a bit more of an authentic travel experience outside of hotels. My daughter is 5 years old and she loved all the staff that were really encouraging to her and made her feel special. We did have a private room and didn’t stay in a dorm (will wait a few years for that experience for her). As a parent when I walked into the bar I had some concerns that we would not get any sleep. On the contrary the rooms are really well insulated and I didn’t hear much more than the sounds of the city all night long. We are still jet lagged, so early to bed and early to rise, but this was a really quiet hostel and there were no surprises in the night. I would definitely stay again with children. We are excited for our next St Christopher’s Hostel in Vienna now.

I'm regularly traveling to Berlin since some time ago and St. Christopher's Inn is my choice. 1. The staff is super friendly and flexible. They always solve problems if any appears in the simplest wY possible and they are super kind. No language barrier - everybody speaks English and there is a big chance you will find a speaker of your mother tongue as the team is international. 2. The rooms, the bathrooms are clean, you can ask for the necessary items or buy them at the reception- pads, soap, shampoo, tampons - they have all of it. 3. Breakfast is of good price and it's tasty, fresh and satisfying. 4. Bar downstairs have a variety of good drinks and tasty German and American food. 5. No queue to the showers, well maintained facilities 6. Interesting events and live music on the evenings. 7. Silence after 22 and curtains at beds which allows you to rest well in the night time. And that's all for a really competitive price. Highly recommend

This hostel sits above a bar and is a few stories high. Your common room is the bar and that can be very irritating if you just wanna chill. Especially when you're getting shoved off because tables are being reserved left right and center. It feels like it's a bar first and hostel second. The rooms are okay, usual dorm stuff, a bit run down but they aren't too bad. Frequently cleaned which is nice. The showers I absolutely hate stepping in. They do get cleaned, but not deep cleaned so over time the floor and walls just look grim and definitely make you consider not showering for a few days. Also for some reason they have this open air shower that allows people to bob their head in and out of the shower and just see you showering, which is the weirdest design in my eyes especially as everyone in this hostel is drunk outta their minds. There is no kitchen unless you book the oasis room in which you actually get a kitchen, and facilities. So unless you pay extra you literally pay for the bed and a crappy shower that's about it. The staff are lovely generally, not had a problem with them at all, they're the saving grace of this place. I dont hate this place but I wouldn't ever stay again. If you need a cheap hostel option, this might be it if you need a bargain... (Other St Chris hostels I've stayed at have been much better than this, Vienna was far better)

It was a lovely stay during those two night! They offered welcome drink which was nice to catch up with nice travelers. I think what I have noticed that there is no kitchen to use if you want to warm up something or make a coffee! Apart from that, there were all nice 👌🏼

The young English (?) lad behind reception when I checked in was so lovely and the majority of the bartenders were great too. The bar was friendly and sociable with plenty of space for everyone. The rooms were a bit dated and the carpets in the hostel look like they’re in need of a desperate replace. The privacy curtain was really nice and the shelf & charger port above the bed were so helpful, especially on a top bunk. Unfortunately the rooms were extremely warm. There was a small fan running but it didn’t do anything noticeable. The showers could do with a curtain or divider to stop your things from getting sprayed but they were hot. Overall it was a good stay for the price and the underground just outside the hostel was very handy!
