Beautiful chic hotel ideally locatedin central Reykjavik. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, facilities were very clean and secure, room was clean and comfortable, and the attached dining is fantastic. The only drawback is that parking leaves much to be desired. On-site parking is available but costs a premium and, while a free parking lot down the street is available, our vehicle was flagged with a notice that it was parked in a construction zone and would have been towed at our expense had we not retrieved it early in the morning. Otherwise a phenomenal experience and would absolutely stay again.

Water pressure of the shower head was rather low. Our room was beside the road and we could hear external sound and movement. We had booked a junior suite and parking was included, but this was not conveyed to us. We had parked at a free parking space about 7 minutes away and it was very cold and slippery walking over. Only when we decided to pay and park in the underground garage on the second day that we were informed that complimentary parking was provided with our room type. This could be communicated to us during check in. In addition, the entrance and exit to the garage was very tight. If any traveller decides to park there, will need to bear in mind the space. Other than the above, room was clean and relatively spacious.

I liked the bakery And the restaurant at at the entry of the hotel. Only one comfortable Chair in mini suite… No place to put bathroom items. Small things, not at all important, but enough to give 4 instead of 5 stars. I would stay there again.

Such a lovely hotel. It is located at the end of downtown, but definitely walkable to all touristic places around downtown. Staffs are very kind, facility is super clean, amenities are so good, and food options at this hotel is phenomenal. Free parking lot is only 3-4 minutes away on foot. I will definitely come back here.

This hotel was perfect! It’s located just across the street from bus stop 4 and has beautiful views of the harbor and Mt. Esja. It is perfectly located so that you can walk to many restaurants, shops, and is just a 20 minute walk to the bus terminal. The walk to the bus terminal takes you past a beautiful lake! Breakfast was provided every morning and was delicious! They offered fruit, cereal, skyr, fish, bacon, sausage, pastries, cinnamon rolls, beans, eggs, coffee and juice. The first floor of the hotel has a great burger restaurant, bakery, and bar. All were delicious! Will definitely be staying here for our next trip to Iceland!

Exeter Hotel is a good choice for solo women travelers as all entrances, elevators etc. are only accessed with a key card. Easy pick up/drop off for day tours directly across the street from the hotel at Bus Stop number 4. The staff is helpful and supportive. I would have liked to have been given a heads up that in winter there may be condensation on the windows and glass doors which can lead to pooling of water. Otherwise it was a great experience.

Hotel was perfect location for exploring Reykjavik by foot. Very walkable to cathedral, rainbow road, bars and restaurants. Breakfast included is really high quality and decision - a great way to start the day. The onsite restaurant is also excellent, same with the bakery, Dieg. Hugely recommend!

My room was cleaning comfortable. I loved that the door opened for Greg air even though there was no balcony. Front desk was SUPER helpful on a number of requests. Convenient coffee shop and restaurant downstairs. I didn’t use them, but the sauna was a big plus in a small boutique hotel. Convenient to downtown and lots of shopping and restaurants. Adorable “greenhouse dining” outside. Controlled access to guest floors. As a woman traveling alone in Iceland for the first time I felt safe. Hotel transfer pick up just across the street. I would definitely stay here again.
