Nordurey Guesthouse

Shared kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed for meals. One bathroom per floor of 3 rooms so there were people from other floors coming to ours to use the bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was hot!

The pictures in advertisement were much nicer than the actual guesthouse. We were located by the kitchen and it was very noisy, especially during nighttime hours. Severe mold problem in our room from ceiling to floor. Parking was ok. Weeds up to my shoulders in back yard, and no clean path from rear street to door so very easy to track dirt in. We were there for 4 days and no way to refresh towels or washcloth.

Tried to reach out to properly manager to get the code when checking in, no one ever got back to us and we had to wait hours to get in. Not happy

Second time we stayed at the guest house. It is clean and the kitchen is a great feature especially traveling to Iceland with a family.

Great location. Needs much maintenance in the building…. Lots falling apart. TV advertised but no connection available.

The room was big and the bed was comfortable. If you are a light sleeper like myself then the traffic road noise maybe an issue. We physically checked in at 10 pm and left at 4 AM to leave for the airport.

Great location

What did we like? Room provided 2 twin beds and 1 sofa bed for 2 that were comfortable. It has a good location that allows you to walk to the main streets of Reykjavik. What didn't we like? Entrance displays the need of maintenance. Bushes are overgrown and paint is past due. When we entered the Guesthouse, it was smelly. The room assigned to us was downstairs and if you do not turn on lights (which initially you have no idea where they are), you will not be able to see much. Multiple showers like a dorm. I was not comfortable bathing alone since it seemed so spooky. Overall, in our travel, we stayed in 5 different locations, and this was by far the least that we liked. Not returning and would not recommend.

The kitchen is very functional.

Close to downtown, but not in downtown. Walk across the street and cut next to church and you are in downtown. Bonus points for coffee machine in kitchen and free street parking

It was very clean!!! The shower did clog up but it was fixed immediately.

Clean and convenient stay near Reykjavik. Easy to walk to the main downtown. Convenient facilities and amenities. Even though the bathrooms were shared there was never a wait and they were clean. The available kitchen and laundry room was convenient. The room could use some updates and fixes. The bedroom light fixture was hanging by the electrical wires, the flooring had water damage, the back door had a visible gap to outside and the apple TV was missing a HDMI cable so the TV did not work.

Room and toilet are clean, shower could be cleaner. Check-in is easy. Very close to city center, we walked to all places.

Was a very peaceful place to return back to every night. Had good free street parking for our rental car. Very walkable to downtown Reykjavik. Nice kitchen. Clean. Only had problems with consistent internet. Otherwise, a great place at a reasonable price.

The door and window hinges were both broken. It was very difficult to open the door to our room. It was Impossible to close the window completely, making it a chilly and noisy night. The electricity in our room was off when we got to the room. When we called the reception desk they told us to check the fuse box. The electricity went off again when we were getting ready for bed. The parking was very difficult as non locals since parking is along the side of a very busy street. It was however a comfortable room and the common area was nice and well equipped.

Fantastic place with free parking and great location. Amazing cleanliness.

We booked a superior room and have been given a standard size room. Be aware that the website doesn't tell that the bathroom and kitchen are shared. The was mouldy in the shower. There is a lot of noise from the street

Really great stay at Nordurey guesthouse. It’s very comfortable and clean and the rooms are modern and recently decorated. The location is very convenient and we found parking very easily. The kitchen is so handy and has everything you would need. I would stay here again if I came to Reykjavik
