Rooms are small so is bathroom. Train noise all night. Dining room is good

Room is ok, sounds from next door is very clear during the night. Not worth it for a US$100/night room rate.

Carpets were not clean…

This is not what is expected from Ginger group. It was a very cozy room with no room to spread my legs aswell. Did not have an ironing board. Beds, bed sheet, towels were not clean with mosquitoes going around the room and got very lame excuses when mentioned about the issues.

Checkin process is the worst I have ever experienced outside of Russia. First a 5 min wait to speak to a receptionist who doesn't even take name and says take a seat for 5-10 minutes. Eventually called up for check-in. Give name, ID, credit card as usual. But no, they need itinerary number, so give that. But no, they can't find it. They search by the ID I gave in the first place like a normal check in and now they find it. Next they want immigration date from passport. No other hotel I've used in India needed this, but fine, let me spoon feed the stamp for them on the passport I already handed over. Now they need the visa which is evisa, so I show the image. This was good enough for immigration at the airport but apparently the immigration security bar for Hotel Ginger is higher than getting into India itself! They need full electronic copy of the visa emailed to them. But I need wifi to email. Sorry sir no wifi until checkin - Kafka would be proud! Now the receptionist puts me on a Hotspot and I email. Next I need to pay. Except I already paid through Expedia. Next they say no Amex. I show them the line item on my Amex with Expedia taking payment already and magically the problem disappeared. So either the usual scam to avoid Amex processing fees, or worse an outright theft attempt to double charge. At best, nickel and dime stuff from a place that charges over $100 a night in this market.

The lobby & passage near the rooms and the rooms used to continuously stink beacuse of moisture and barely any measures were taken to eliminate it.

Rooms are like pigeon whole , value for money is BAD.

At check-in they took a while to find my booking and acknowledge that the room was pre-paid.

There is a massive cattle shed immediately across the road, plenty of mosquitoes. A chair has to be provided in the room. Refilling of consumables not done.
