Lough Rea Hotel & Spa

Overall the hotel is decent, but the food in restaurant wasnt great, and the breakfast in the morning was reheated in microwave.

I stayed for one night and it was great. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. The corridors were quiet. Staff were very friendly. I would stay again

Nice property. Had a lovely view of the Lake. A bit out of town but the bar and restaurant in the hotel has excellent food. Breakfast was lovely. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Resort wants to put off being upscale but there are a number of items that come off cheap and cutting corners.

Lovely hotel , great food , comfortable , great view of the lake and nice staff . The only downfall was in the bar the cocktails were the worst I’ve ever had. They clearly need training on how to make them . I tried a few different ones and they were truly awful

Rooms dark, insufficiently lit. Boasted of 3 eateries, yet no food, at 8.15pm ! Not even bar grub . Lake close by was nice.

Great stay although it was only 1 night as it was a quick trip.

Very nice place

The hotel itself is reasonably priced and the room was clean. The pillows perhaps a bit hard but that's personal choice. Staff on check in and check out were friendly. My main criticism was that the service for dinner was poor. It took quite a while to get seated. My main course was wrong and I had to wait for it to be replaced. The resulting delay meant I didnt get finished til 8.55pm only to be told the kitchen was closed and I couldn't get dessert. This was disappointing

The staff was nice to allow us to check in 15 minutes late, but the room was terrible. The carpet was dirty with some stains, there were 2 bugs in the bathroom which was meant for a handicap person. I had to practically kneel on my knees to use the incredibly small sink and the lighting in the bathroom was equal to candlelight. Staff was nice, but that was a bad room.

We enjoyed our brief stay. Would have loved to have stayed longer. The accomodations were lovely. The restaurant had good food and friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.

The property and staff were great! It was just a bit loud at night, due to some weddings and concerts. But it was the perfect location for everything we needed and close to family! We would most definitely stay there again and again!

Overall experience was mediocre - after booking the hotel we got an automated welcome email from the hotel asking if we want to book the table for the dinner and other special requests; we emailed back the preferred time for the dinner also requested if we can use the swimming pool after arrival. We didn't get any response, but we were pretty sure that they received it and have us in mind. After arrival and checking in we were told that there is no swimming pool in the hotel (they have it only in Cork hotel), also the table wasn't reserved for us. Kids were extremely disappointed regarding the swimming pool and if we would have received the email from them on time advising us that the swimming pool is in the different hotel we would definitely not be choosing Loughrea Hotel and Spa and choosing the one more suitable for the children. The room was damp and the window was not opening, no balcony, no terrace, no window. All night we had an air conditioner on the lowest temperature and at the highest speed but it didn't make much of a difference, it was still very damp and no fresh air (we love sleeping with a bit of window open for the fresh air, but as the window was not opening we couldn't have that option). Breakfast was very poor, dried eggs, extremely dry black and white pudding, not a good quality sausages and bacon. Would we come back? No, thank you. For the price we've paid there are more luxury and comfortable hotels with tons of activities for the kids.

We had a great stay! The property is in perfect conditions and service was super friendly, from the reception to the restaurants. We loved having the opportunity to have a late dinner, as we arrived quite late. It was all delicious and we had plenty of options to choose from. Thanks for your hospitality!
