Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone

Excellent, thank you

We stayed for 1 night. Room very clean but bed was terrible. 2 singles pushed together and no proper topper on the bed so you could feel the mattress rims in the middle. So uncomfortable and had 1 normal pillow and another small square cushion type with a pillow case . Very strange and not comfortable. Ate in the bar food was ok but quite expensive. Staff very nice. Probably wouldn't return as bed situation was ridiculous and unnecessary.

The room had a bad smell

Our hotel room was very clean and the property was nice. We had a small view of the river from our room. The mattress in our room was uncomfortable - the springs felt as if they were protruding through and our pillows were extremely flat. We didn’t sleep well, but everything else was lovely and the staff were accommodating and friendly.

Bad experience. No heating working in the room at check in. No coffee machine despite being in the description. Machine added later after but no coffee capsules left by housekeeping!!! I've stayed there few times, never been good really.

Overall a good trip, bar staff overall service was very poor, during quiet and busy times. There are Management and staff competence issues which is odd to see in a Radisson hotel.

Last day in Ireland and Lauren @ front desk was exceptional in making our last stay fantastic!

Conveniently located walking distance from the train station. Checkin was easy. We had a large room with a view of the river that was comfortable. The bathroom was roomy, but getting in and out of the deep bathtub to shower was a little tricky. Would prefer a walk-in shower to a tub. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff were friendly.

There was a problem at check in but I found reception not very welcoming. The choice of menu for bar food was very poor and portion very small. The people who served us were lovely.

Thé Check out and in went well clean nice room. The only issue I would have is we arrived early and the lady said no early check in. No a big deal except she was cranky and I felt not very welcoming. Hotel and proper check in were fine

Bar staff a bit slow but got there Carpark situation un clear

Great value in a great location. A full buffet breakfast for 10 euros was a steal! Friendly helpful staff. 😁

Very aged facility

September 20-21, 2024. Location was amazing! No need to drive anywhere. Plenty of food, pubs, shopping all in walking distance. I’m sure there are rooms that have a nice view, ours just overlooked the roof. The room was great though, as it was divided into two sections so we had a little more privacy than expected. Bathroom was great as it had a separate tub and shower. The shower didn’t drain well though. There were no wash cloths provided which seems standard for Ireland. We stayed in 8 different hotels on this trip and only two provided wash cloths. No AC, which is apparently very common for Ireland as well. No top sheet for the bed and the comforter was thick which I assume is comfortable in the cooler months. The windows did open so we were able to get a little fresh air. The room was quiet considering the location and open windows. They did provide an oscillating fan upon request. Parking was free. Breakfast was decent. They had BINGO going on in the conference area but seemed more like a dance party as there was a DJ and everyone seemed to be having a great time. You must go to Nuts Corner if you’re looking for a local pub and a great time!! Overall extremely satisfied with this hotel.

We really enjoyed Athlone and the hotel is located right on the water. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Parking was a bit crowded when we arrived on Saturday but was better on Sunday. The service in the hotel restaurant needs improvement. Lots of really nice workers but disorganization was evident. The room was fine, but needs some details fixed like wires hanging out of wall.

Arrived in and loved the family room. Fresh off the plane and exhausted. They were very nice an accommodating. The weather was hot and the only downside was the lack of ac. A great stay instead of Dublin

The property was quite basic, it was clean and the breakfast service was very nice and worth the extra money. The room itself was not bad, compared to Canada the amenities were not as gracious. Would stay here again.
