Agriturismo Il Gelso Nero

We didn't sleep here, but we had an amazing experience with a group pasta making class! After the bustle and chaos of the city of Rome, driving into the Italian countryside and slowing down to make something delicious with our hands was just what we needed! Would 100% recommend and repeat the experience, given the opportunity to travel to Italy again.

We stayed at Gelso Nero one night, due to an event in the area and from now on it will be our point of reference! The room was spacious and with all the necessary comforts, plus every time we went out we found ourselves faced with a stunning view! The next morning we had breakfast outdoors, we felt pampered by all the things they brought us ☺️ We will definitely be back for lunch soon!

Found by chance after a visit to the Farfa Abbey: I never wanted to leave! Excellent dishes from starters to desserts. Almost everything produced by them. The farmhouse is beautiful, immersed in the Sabine countryside, among other things the family history is special. The rooms display photos of grandparents and great-grandparents, old sharecroppers. Stupendous!

Zero hospitality, I have no words how they can manage this farmhouse like this if we want to call it that, from dinner to breakfast, they make us sit at a dirty table, not even in the restaurant, which is not set, and in the morning we find the remains of the evening on the same table, chairs now to be thrown away with the fear of falling, insipid and poor dinner, no ingredients were from the farm, the breakfast was made of muffins brought from their home that were days old, only the dog could eat them, cold bread, not even a bit of toasted bread, they were in a hurry and they couldn't care about us guests. We then had to go out to eat. Not even a smile and a really bad welcome.

I always gladly return to the black mulberry. Even just for a Sunday trip to Sabina. Every time I find excellent, genuine and homemade food. The location near Farfa is perfect.
