Il Poggio di San Ruffino

The road in and out of this property is gravel and dirt but very uneven and very narrow. It needs to be paved and widened or at least regraded so it is more even. It is almost impossible to pass another car going in the opposite direction. The walkway to the units in this building consists of old, broken paving stones that are spaced out, making it extremely difficult to roll your suitcases comfortably to your unit. There is a nice swimming pool but the tiles on the side of the pool were dirty and needed cleaning. After our first night there, we observed hornets flying around our bedroom. I killed them but noticed more flying around. We observed a hornet's nest on top of one of the roof beams. We complained and the owner sent someone to remove it promptly. Our shower was draining slowly and filling up. We also observed many drain moths flying around our unit. We killed at last 20 of them. We complained to the owner and I assumed that he sent someone to look after these problems, however they were not very successful at resolving these complaints. Our unit was spacious but the spiral staircase up to the second floor bedroom was very narrow making it quite difficult to bring suitcases up or down. Overall, a pleasant and convenient location for Tuscany, however this property requires better maintenance and some physical upgrades to get a better rating.

With my family we got an apartment. Overall good stay. The apartment is equipped with all comforts but... it would need some maintenance and it would also be advisable to install mosquito nets because insects enter the house. The staff were very helpful even though we never saw anyone. All communications via whatsapp. However I would go back.

I recently stayed at this castle for a wedding. A fairytale stay, with attention to the smallest details and not at all distracting. The structure is majestic, the rooms are exceptional and the view is typical of the Tuscan countryside. There is a swimming pool with an attached garden. Reachable only by car... or preferably...

After reading the previous reviews, I was afraid of what I would 'find'.. I had to think again... The road is not extremely bumpy as some describe... yes, there are a few potholes, but I think that's normal in the countryside! The swimming pool is small, but very nice. There were 5 of us: the apartment was comfortable and welcoming. The front garden was also much appreciated by our Toy Poodle where she was able to play freely. We cooked delicious Florentine steaks on the barbecue provided: a wonderful evening! Positive experience!!! Mr Giuseppe kind and helpful 😉
