Sbarcatore dei Turchi - Dimore

A good three star hotel. A bit run down in places but an excellent location. Need a car if your staying there for any amount of time. No staff on reception for check in but the cleaners let us in. Clean and tidy rooms. Great sea view. Nice rocky beach locally. Good restaurant and supermarket a short drive away.

During a road trip in Sicily, we had the pleasure of enjoying 4 nights at the Sbarcatore dei Turchi hotel. Ideally located between Catania and Syracuse, we were able to enjoy spacious and comfortable rooms, and the incredible view of the Ionian Sea. We met the owners Gabriele and Augusto (and their dog Alfio) who gave us the best welcome. Our hosts took care to help us plan our stay, organize our trips, reserve a space for our group, ... Thus considerably improving our comfort. Always concerned about the well-being of customers, smiling, caring and accommodating, we will keep excellent memories of our stay at Augusta Thank you from the heart and hope to see you again ! I don't recommend it. The hotel is neglected, the paint is peeling, the walls are cracked, the floors are gray, the furniture is old, the walls are black. Nora is terrible. I was there for less than 2 hours. It was impossible to look at it. Moreover, when I said that I would write a negative review, they blocked me and said that I did not come. But I'll post the photos here. They don't want to give back the money.

I had booked 5 nights, the first night was a nightmare: the rooms are rented to companies that bring in people who make a mess without shame, in the room as in the corridors and in the common areas, given the insistence on soundproofing, a big problem. The common areas are summarily furnished with pieces that seem taken from second-hand shops, old and ugly. The structure needs a major renovation. The service is almost non-existent, no one at the bar counter, no one at reception and I had to call on the phone to check in, in a hotel this is unacceptable. The restaurant service is honest and punctual, but there is no choice, despite the good will and sincere desire of the staff, I must say that it was lucky for me to have to leave early. However, I do not recommend anyone to go there, there is not a single good reason to choose this structure, the property should examine its conscience and booking remove the structure from their offer.
