Tritone Top House

My wife and I recently stayed at Tritone Top House for four days during our trip to Rome, and unfortunately, it was far from what we expected. Upon arrival, we were taken aback by the narrow entrance and steep staircase. To our surprise, none of the hotel staff offered assistance with our luggage. Guests with disabilities or those needing help should be aware that they must notify the hotel in advance, as no assistance will be offered. When we got to our room on the first night, we quickly discovered that the soundproofing was nonexistent. The noise from the street was overwhelming, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Despite our efforts to seal the windows, it felt like we were sleeping right in the middle of the bustling street. The noise from the floors above us was just as bad—every footstep sounded like a drum in our room. This issue persisted throughout our four-night stay, resulting in several sleepless nights. In terms of cleanliness, the standards were alarmingly low. The room was merely tidied up without proper cleaning; the linens were dirty even after the room was “cleaned,” the floors were dirty, and it felt like the towels had simply been picked up from the floor, folded, and placed back on the bed for reuse. We also had to ask for toilet paper, as it was not replenished during our stay. Overall, our experience at Tritone Top House was extremely disappointing and negatively impacted our time in Rome. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel if you want to enjoy your stay in the city.

They hide fees in the fine print. When I went to check in they charged me an extra €50 for cleaning instead of just including that in the price of the stay. When asked to cancel they would give me no refund. Dirty business practices. I do not recommend.

Stayed with my family of 4 in the "apartment " in mid-june. Check in process was a bit confusing as we could not locate the area to check in due to minimal signage. Once we got in touch with the staff, the check in was great. She was very friendly and gave us a huge tip on shopping for groceries to save some $$$. We were in the other building, but it was just up the hill from where we checked in. Super close to Spanish Steps and Trevi. We never used a taxi or ride share and we ate in Trastevere ( highly recommend Tonarello La Scala), toured the Colosseum, Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori, etc... The apartment itself was very AirBNB like. Great AC, nice patio area to enjoy cocktails outdoors, great little Cafe right next door! If you want a more authentic Italian living experience, I'd recommend this place!

The staff are very kind but the building / bathroom and check in process is not good. When we got there, there was a group in front of us. The worker left with the group and took around 30 minutes to come back. We didn’t know why and weren’t given a heads up. ( later to come find out why ). When he came back we tried to do the luggage check in he said our room was in a different building (9-10 minutes walking). So we waited hours just to be waiting at the wrong building. The room was suppose to be ready but it wasn’t ready at 2:30pm when we came back, but had a lot to be cleaned. (Which wasn’t a big deal for us but maybe for others. But for the price, i think it should be ready as agreed. The room smelled fine initially but by far the worst part of this: The humidity of the bathroom is SO MOLDY after using the shower, that all the 3 people who spent the night there woke up with sore throat and nasal issues. We were only there 1 night but if longer, we wouldn’t have stayed in that particular room. I appreciate the staff but i’d never stay here again.

We have the penthouse on the top floor. Beautiful views and wonderful location. The staff are very friendly and helpful!! We would definitely recommend this place!
