Centrally located in Gion. Walking distance to downtown area. Subway station near by.
Very convenient for shopping and eating. Great facility. Only regret, no onsite restaurant for breakfast.

Though it is a 2-star hotel, the room and amenities provided were excellent! They provided multi adaptor, face masks, hair straightener for the ladies etc and these were very well thought of. The location. Is just beside the beautiful Kamo River and between Gion and new Kyoto. Will stay here again in a heartbeat !

Great location. The room was very comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided, including some things you didn't know you needed, like an eye mask that heats up, a bathtub with microbubbles that clean you, pour over coffee , dishes, pajamas, a vanity. I would stay here again.

Hotel Alza is in a great location, far enough from the main areas of Kyoto but close to walk and near a train station, the room was spacious and nicely appointed with local art and amenities, definite would stay again

There are amenities necessary and special (face pack, eye pack) and everything was placed in the right spot!! Green tea and roasted black soybean coffee were great.
The hotel is at very convenient location.
Only challenge was that it was a bit hard to control the room temperature. It was not necessary to use AC, but the room were getting warm during the night.

A must stay in Kyoto. Hotel is located right on the river in a central area that’s easy to walk to restaurants and shops. They served a traditional Japanese breakfast and even accommodated my vegan diet. The hotel is basic, no amenities, but the room and bathroom were quite large. We had a great experience.

I absolutely loved this property. Quite yet convenient. We loved the quaint , walkable neighborhood. It was recommended by a colleague from London and it did to disappoint. Well done team Hotel Alza.

Hotel Alza is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location in Gion. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The room size is very generous for Japanese standards and the amenities ( like micro bubble bath ) are super enjoyable. 2 things to improve: the breakfast is very limited in choice and more like a prepacked version rather than a lovely food option. We had to eat it in our room because dining area downstairs is too limited to cater for all guests. Also, for what we paid I would have expected an English language channel on TV or at least the possibility to connect to Netflix. Otherwise, we had a nice stay. Thank you 😊

Really enjoyed my stay here. Lovely hotel that is very conveniently located and in a beautiful and relatively quiet area. Absolutely no complaints, would recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto, and would stay here again.

Really surprised by the spacious, wonderful room at this hotel. It was double the size of most hotel rooms I’ve stayed at all over Japan and the shower/bathtub was just unbelievable. They definitely had a lot of switches for all the accessories and lights for the room but that’s how much each room has in terms of amenities and convenience. The location couldn’t be any better in Kyoto and the staff was great. They even helped me get a reservation at a restaurant that I wanted to visit. A+++

Outstanding in total. Beautifully appointed rooms with every amenity you could imagine. Staff was outstanding. We opted for daily breakfast option that was brought to our suite every morning. Close to shops, busses and trains. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance as well as historical sites. We highly recommend.
