This hostel is great with comfortable beds and in a convenient area. The best part of this hostel, though, is the host who is lovely and goes out of his way to be as helpful as possible. Enjoyed my stay completely, and will be back.

Very cozy and peaceful place somewhere between a relative’s home and a hostel. We didn’t hike Fuji as we’ve been in Japan for a month now and have done plenty of (far less touristy) hiking, but rather wanted a quiet place with a beautiful view to rejuvenate. Kazu is the proprietor and super friendly. He even gave us a ride to the train station at the end of our stay. We greatly enjoyed the Japanese-style room, back porch, and kitchen (was SO nice to cook in a comfortable and well-stocked space). You can [and should] walk 45 min or bike 15 to the seaside for one of the most breathtaking sunsets of your journey! The hostel was a great place to be social or private. Nothing fancy but a very welcoming environment/special retreat. N64 is an awesome touch, too!

This was an amazing place to stay. It was clean, affordable, and the owner (Kazu) was incredibly accessible, friendly and helpful. We had initially only planned to stay here for two nights, but we extended our time to four nights because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Kazu has bikes which you can borrow at no cost, and he has a wealth of knowledge about things going on in the area. We were able to attend a traditional Japanese Tea ceremony, get a tour of a nearby temple, and have a meal with some incredibly friendly locals because of some introductions which Kazu made. All of this is to say that Kazu seems to work hard to connect guests with things going on nearby, and that worked out very nicely for us. Other things of note are that the back porch and living room are super comfy, and that the kitchen is clean, large, and well-appointed. Fuji station is a 10 minute walk away, and Shin-Fuji station is perhaps 15-25 minute walk away. Also, Kazu seems to be happy to pick up/drop off guests from the train station, although the walk was pretty pleasant so we did not take advantage of this. In sum, the place was great, and I would highly recommend it.

This hostel is a more traditional Japanese style building which was cool to see. The bunk bed mattress is extremely firm. The kitchen facility is well supplied and the host has great recommendations for the area. The local area has less activities and sights, good for a night or two when passing between Tokyo and Kyoto.

The staff were super sweet and helpful! The man at the desk even recommended a lot of cool places around Fuji to check out including a pretty great yakisoba place. The place was very clean, really convenient and one of the best hostels I've been in. Most definitely coming back when I'm in the Fuji area!

We had an awesome stay here! Weather was average, but when the clouds finally rose, the view was amazing! Hostel recommended visiting some waterfalls that were great and a sake tasting place. The hostel was in great condition and had a working Nintendo 64 which ended up with us making some friends whilst drinking sake and playing Mario kart and Mario Party. All up a great time was had!!

I'm traveling now for over 1 and 1/2 year and this was the first time that i checkt somewhere in and it was like I'm home again. Kazu and this Hostel are beautiful. You stay in an old Japanese house with modern room s and facilities. The Rooms are very clean and the beds are perfect for a long sleep. Kazu tries everything to make your stay perfect. We arrived 3 hours before the check inn time and he cleaned staight away our Room first so that we can check inn and go to explore the area. Moreover I find you have any questions about this region he has an answer and if not he will search so long till he can give you one. He gave us bustimetables, talked with us about thinks we have to see around Fuji and how we get there. The hostel is very lovely in the evening we were sitting all together in the living room and played card games or with the N64 whichKazu provide for his guest. We had an amazing time. I'm at the moment in Osaka on my way back to Tokyo I will make an extra stop at this place to the Kazu again the best Host you can have. Thank you very much for these memories.

Although the hostel is further away from Mount Fuji, it's closer to the train stations that take you in and out of the area. The biggest bonus is Kazu, the super chill guy that runs the hostel, will bus you to and from the stations. The whole area is quiet and relaxing. The Japanese style room was very comfortable. There wasn't a lot of social atmosphere, but that may be that the people staying were not very social. Also, we woke up at 5 in the morning because you could see Mount Fuji peaking out through our window. Very cool. Thanks Kazu!

Even though its a bit of a walk from the station, this place was worth it. It doesnt have any of the faciness of the other hostels we stayed ag, but it makes up for it in happiness and warmth. The owner/manager was extremely friendly, as well as speaking english very well. The bunks were really comfy, rooms neat and air con was nice. Wifi was fast as well. Would definitely recommend.
