It’s a very quiet hotel and convenient location. Walking distance to most attraction.
We stay in the room with lounge access with free alcohol drink and snacks. It’s the best place to spend a bit time with friends after dinner. Also got roof top bar with beautiful view.

We loved this hotel. It is extremely well located, the staff was amazing, and the breakfast was spectacular. The private ofuro baths are highly recommended. We will be back without a doubt. Since we made our reservation with Expedia, we got a lot of complimentary drinks and snacks. The guest lounge is beautiful and full of delicious food options. We will go back without a doubt.

Property is located right to the street where you want to be in Kyoto (Gion district). Enter the property and it's pure serene and bliss. The Rooftop bar is exclusive for the 48 guests and is spectacular. The staff at the hotel are amazing. The rooms are very well proportioned and the furniture is modernistic including the expansive bathroom with showers and a tub. What not to say about the view? Spectacular. Truly a unique property with historical significance. One of the restaurant is themed as a Library which actually was a school library. Lot's of historical significance to this property.

We have been lucky enough to stay in many wonderful hotels over the years but the Seiryu has to be one of the best: a lovely boutique size but with amenities such as a guest lounge with complimentary food and wine/spirits, gym, roof top bar…. And the staff were second to none!! Thank you!

We had such a wonderful stay in this hotel. The balcony was so spacious with a lovely view of the Toji temple. The staff is wonderful & they made our stay enjoyable. And to top it off, we were treated to a fantastic performance by the Geikos right in the hotel. It was a truly unforgettable experience, especially being able to take pictures of them.

Great bed, great washroom, luxury feel. Fantastic lounge access with beautiful and delicious small bites featuring local traditional snacks and beverages.
Annoying to not receive the Silver reward despite having Silver status. Also annoying to have to pay extra for the onsen use.
Front staff didn’t speak English well and were judgemental, demanding our room number when we walked into the lobby for the first couple of days.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I had great conversations with a few staff members and learned a lot about the hotel's history—it was once a school that closed due to low attendance. The renovation was amazing, preserving all the original architecture and enhancing it with a beautiful garden and fixtures.
The lounge was fantastic, offering complimentary drinks and snacks throughout the day. It's also where I learned to make traditional green tea. We were lucky to arrive on a day when two maiko performed for the hotel guests. Afterwards, we had the chance to chat with them and learn about their lives.
Despite being in the heart of a popular tourist destination, the hotel was incredibly serene. The rooftop bar provided a stunning view of Kyoto, where my wife and I watched a breathtaking sunset.
We hope to visit this hotel again in the future.
