I loved this hotel. I booked a room with lounge access. Like everywhere in Japan, I was treated nicely, but The Okura went beyond. Nice amenities in the room and around the hotel. Peaceful spaces and layout. Perhaps not super close to Ginza or shopping restaurants but Tokyo isn’t difficult to navigate. I’ll be back.

There are many almost comparable luxury hotels in Tokyo but none will give you the Japanese ambience that the Okura exudes Tradition is so important and so very well done. First Class all the way

Don’t get me wrong, this is an amazing property however, in the winter months I don’t think they extend their thoughts to the facilities around them to ensure safety of its customers.
If you are walking to the hotel, you pass through the escalator to get access into the connected office building and the hotel did not notify me that this access would be closed on weekends. So I had to take the additional walk up through the garden paths/hill leading to the hotel and I ended up slipping and falling on black ice and injuring my knee which ended up causing internal bleeding and other complications that lasted for months.
If they did notify me of the closure OR cleaned up the paths that you must walk on leading to their hotel, this could entirely be prevented. For a five star hotel details are key and although everything else was great this ruined my experience with them.
So please be aware of this when visiting in the winter months as this is a major safety issue and can be prevented.

I've stayed at many top-class hotels in Asia. This hotel is on my list of top 3 hotels I've stayed. Up to par with Ritz Tokyo which I stayed twice in the past. The rooms are clean and larger than most others. Every member of the staff was eager to help you. They always go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. If you are looking for the best hotel experience, look no further. You won't be disappointed. This will be my go-to hotel in Tokyo from now on.

The hotel is probably one of the best hotels in Tokyo. It is located at a very safe neighborhood given that there is the US embassy residence in front of the hotel. However, it was not that pedestrian-friendly because it is located on the top of the hill.

1. the air condition was very loud, even at Low fan mode.
2. The gym and public shower open from 6am to 10pm. Which i personally think is a bit too late (to open) and too early (to close); I don’t think having a staff stationed at the gym all the time is necessary to be honest.
3. Very limited room dining option

I stayed at The Okura twice in 2024 and I loved it both times! The staff are so kind and helpful, the breakfast options are always delicious, the rooms are so clean and beautifully designed along with the rest of the property. It's always a pleasure to stay at The Okura.
