Melia Puerto Vallarta - All inclusive

Overall this resort is good, so much fun stuff for the kids and plenty of engaging stuff for adults. The rooms are a little bit dated, but nothing out of the ordinary, aside from a big lack of power outlets for charging our devices. We also had an issue with our AC, but the resort took care of it right away. The restaurants were both really good food wise, service was a little slow at the seafood one, Javier helped set all those up. They keep the place very clean and so many activities every hour with Leo and his staff so you can't be bored, shout-out to our bartender David, very friendly.

Definitely a family resort. Lunch/ Dinner was not good.. food lacked flavour and majority of the meat options were pork. Not a lot of vegetarian options, probably better to go off resort for food. Breakfast however is great. Restaurant staff at Mole & Tacos were exceptional, such hard working kind waiters. I think his name was Elfredo at Mole & Tacos deserves a raise!!! Kindest person I met the whole trip. Raul from Nexus was personable, kind and extremely helpful went above and beyond to help me out. Manuel from front desk was also extremely helpful and funny. Only negative experience would be with a lady at front desk, believe her name was Lucia (short, older looking woman) she was unorganized, kept telling me I had to sign something after I repeated I already did the night prior.. only when a male staff (younger, lighter skin with glasses) came over and said she signed it already Lucia finally checked me out. I missed my transportation and had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes because of her. Thank god Raul was there to help with that mess. Wouldn’t recommend for a couples vacation but definitely for a family one.

We stayed at Melia Puerto Vallarta so my husband could have surgery nearby. We were there for a total of 20 nights. At first it seemed alright. My husband seemed to be getting some bites, but we assumed it was just some random insect bites we don’t have back home. It wasn’t till night 14 when I also started getting bites that my in laws (who travelled with us) suggested bedbugs. Turns out that was correct. Thankfully they didn’t seem to be in the playpen our child was sleeping in, as our child got no bites throughout the stay, but we are very unimpressed. Food was moderate at best. The chicken was always dry and over cooked, didn’t matter how it was prepared. Us and our parents also had many room key problems throughout our stay. We had to get keys reprogrammed multiple times, as well as having our doors reprogrammed. On a positive note, we did receive some good service. Our usual housekeeping lady was wonderful, she’d be quick and extra quiet if our child was napping. Also our evening server, Juan, was fantastic. He was always very attentive, bringing special treats for us, and when the hotel ice cream machine was broken one evening, he went across the street to another place to get us ice cream anyway. While staying here we heard mixed reviews from other guests, varying from it being an amazing place to stay that they’ve been coming to for 30 years, to another guest who has stayed at other Meliá locations that were always wonderful but the Puerto Vallarta location was an extreme disappointment and he wouldn’t ever come back.

Decent hotel overall. Beds need updating. Don’t say this often but the shower was overpowering. Food was pretty good. Service was great, friendly staff. Pool is huge and lots of chairs. Entertainment at night was alright. We had an okay stay overall for the lower price we paid.

Everything I expected from an all inclusive resort. Food was quite amazing at both the reservable restaurants. Hospitality team at the buffet and restaurants provided prompt and cordial services. Overall great experience!
