Great location! Convenient easy walk to transportation, museums & restaurants. Small and personable hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located in Museumplein, and the tram stops are within a few minutes’ walk away. The staff were all very nice and helpful, the rooms and common areas were were well-maintained especially considering the age of the building! We also liked that the building is secure, having to get buzzed to get in. Overall a great stay!

It was a beautiful neighbourhood and easy access to local transit.

Location to museums and canal ride of choice was excellent. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place for us to be for our short stay in Amsterdam.Perfect!

This was a great hotel and easy to get to from the airport. They allowed us the leave our luggage before check in and provided ice water when you walk in the door. Staff are very friendly and provided us with a city map of where to find local places.

Excellent location for museums. Nice quiet street. Airport bus around the corner, 20 minutes to Schipol airport, 6.5 euros. Nice property. Canal cruises 5 minutes right in front of Rijks Museum. Very quite small hotel, excellent location close to the museums, restaurants and transit. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay in this place again!

Excellent location within few minutes from museums, restaurants, bus stop that takes you to the airport, shopping. We were able to walk everywhere including Amsterdam central. Beautiful historical building, clean room, nice size bathroom, very warm room which was important for January stay. Nice breakfast included with our stay, friendly staff, they even have umbrellas for these rainy days, you can also rent bikes at the hotel for entire day but we didn't get a chance to try it. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Perfect location in Amsterdam’s museum district. The Van Gogh museum, MoCo, etc. are a a three minute walk. Close to tons of shopping, restaurants, and cafes, as well as Vondelpark. The reception is cozy and welcoming. There is fresh water and an honor bar available. You must leave your key when exiting. Hotel staff were kind and knowledgeable about the area. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom was bigger than we anticipated. We paid more than we typically would because it was the height of the holiday season and everything available was pricey but felt very happy with our choice.

It is a short walk to a half dozen museums including two of Amsterdam's best. Convenient to a tram stop and the airport bus stop. The staff were all delightful.

Odd that you have to leave your room key with reception whenever leaving the property. Also have to buzz to enter from theoutside, though they have always opened the door within seconds. Bathroom had a foul smell of what seemed like sewage or stale water.

Overall, we really liked the Hotel Aalders. The location was great -- on a nice quiet street, yet just a couple blocks from the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, and an easy walk from Leidseplein with abundant restaurant and night life opportunities. Also, several tram and bus lines stop just a block away. The hotel is in an older building, but is charming and is clean and well maintained. And, fortunately, it has an elevator, unlike some older hotels in Amsterdam. The breakfast is decent. Our room (deluxe comfort) was comfortable and big enough for our purposes. Only real complaint was the lack of an in-room refrigerator, so we couldn't store snacks or left-overs, or buy our own cold drinks from the store. That may have been their point, because they sell drinks downstairs in their "honesty bar." Those items were not unreasonably priced, but the selection is limited. I think it would also be good if they updated their rooms with modern key cards, but we got used to using the old fashioned key and leaving it at the desk when we went out. It's kind of an expensive place, but Amsterdam hotels are just plain expensive, so relative to other places we might have booked, it was a good value.
