Loved it! A room in Amsterdam with a balcony?! AMAZING. Beds were super soft. They cleaned/gave fresh towels and bedding everyday! 24/7 reception. Stairs are fine- clearly people haven’t stayed in other Amsterdam hotels before- as the stairs are typical for an old Amsterdam building. Shower was perfect. Could do with a lick of paint and some minor cosmetic bits to the room but honestly prefer it the way it is. A proper Amsterdam hotel

The reviews do not match the stay. This was my first time in a low star hotel i picked it for the location but had a good feeling from choosing the good reviews over the bad. Perfectly clean room beds changed daily. Nice balcony. Tv although alot of channels wasnt in my language but it was fine. Snacks to buy if you left it too late to go shop. Came home and booking my next visit cant wait

From what looks like evidence of a female’s menstrual cycle on the bed sheets to mold and dampness in the room, holes in the laminate flooring and no less than 100 steps at a 90 degree angle. It was horrendous. Walked in and walked out. Location is absolutely tremendous but it doesn’t constitute the atrocities of this slum. Avoid and pay a little more.

We stayed here for the weekend, it’s 2 star you get what you pay for for the area you’re in I suppose. It’s just a basic room, bed toilet shower and that’s it really but it was very clean and stay were lovely. Only bad thing I could say was how steep the stairs are to walk up to the reception and rooms. But I’m guessing all the hotels am like this but don’t quote me on it. Overall good hotel, great place to stop as all the attractions am 10-20 mins walk away. Would defiantly stop here again if I went back.

I booked Hotel Di Ann and was extremely dissatisfied with the state of my room and bathroom (bed bugs, sewage smell). I reported my concerns to the staff, checked out and did not stay the night.

to be honest it’s terrible … doesn’t look like the photos at all, i could’ve cried when we walked in. there was marks all over the wall & dust everywhere, window was propped open with a wooden block? we didn’t pull it out just in case it was dangerous so had to sleep with the trams blaring all night, staff eventually closed the window and didn’t make a difference to the noise somehow. the guy at the desk was clearly stoned, which wasn’t an issue for me but others could take it the wrong way (although i’m not sure how weed & the workplace works in amsterdam). bed is like a rock, sleeping on the wooden floor would’ve been comfier. no bin, no kettle, no fridge etc … (only thing that bothered me was no bin but i know some others like to have a kettle and fridge). Bathroom is fine, basic and shower impossible. stairs didn’t bother us but do not stay here if you have limited mobility, struggle to walk, are older etc… you will not be able to get up the stairs and there is no lift!! (i know this is what amsterdam is like) HOWEVER… the location is great, and no one dodgy was staying there (to my knowledge anyway).

Good time and it was nice to stay there but the problem is the stairs, a bit scary and not safe for the visitors.

I couldn’t wait to get out of this hotel after 3 nights of stay. It’s the worse hotel I’ve been to so far. Its freezing and there’s no heat. It’s not sound proof so you can hear everything. There’s no elevator just a very steep stairs case. If you’re an elderly I don’t think you should stay here. The only good thing is it’s walkable to City Centre.

The stairs as everyone who's stayed are dangerous. Impossible if you're disabled, over 100 steps. The real positives are great location, good view, friendly and helpful staff. I would probably stay again, as long as I'm fit!

On arrival we didn’t spot it at first as it is a single door between shops. The stairs up to the property are steep and not for the faint hearted. People with large bags might find it awkward. The staff were polite friendly and happy to help, despite our later arrival time. Our room was up some further stairs, although it looked clean in the corridor it did look dated. Our room was at the end of the corridor, it was small (we knew this when booking) very plain and in need of TLC, it did have some issues a couple of which we raised the next morning and they were dealt with others were cosmetic and they need sorting. Cleanliness was poor, on the surface it was ok the linen and towels were clean, however we found tissue and cotton buds on the floor someone’s old socks in the wardrobe. It was warm too, despite it feeling like the radiator was never on. The windows were single glazed so you could hear the trams passing, I was still able to sleep. The position of the hotel was very good we walked most places. It was nice and central. We only wanted to sleep and get changed there and this is all we did. If you want to sit in your room relax watch tv, and have home from home comforts then this is not for you. It had a lounge area on the main reception floor with a smoking balcony. Coffee facilities were on this floor too- non in the room. It served our purpose for a few nights but, knowing what i know now I wouldn’t consider it for a longer stay.

Very central - clean but needs a little up-keep. No kettle in rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. No lifts so you have to carry bags up 1 or 2 very steep and narrow flights of stairs. Overall good.

I think the other reviews on this place are quite harsh, yes the hotel isnt exactly a 5 star palace but for what it is everything was fine. There were no bedbugs as people suggested, room was kept to a relatively good standard, the staff are friendly and the location is amazing. Defo not too bad for the price in my opinion
