Had just one option of a bathroom outside of the room, but was for me only to use, thou clean got flooded within few min of shower. Staff was great and straight. She let me checked in earlier as the people left earlier from my room which was the best thing ever

Lovely rooms, the rooms are spacious but the toilets and showers are tiny! Nothing bad though, just a heads up. Also you can hear your neighbors most of the time but other than that it’s pretty peaceful

Everywhere was clean, no problems there. It was a minimalist room with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. There was an area as part of the hotel to get food and drink at the appropriate times which was simple. Unfortunately due for time we were unable to partake on the breakfast (which was available for a reasonable price added, especially being in Amsterdam which can be quite pricey) but it sounded lovely. Homemade pancakes were an option that nearly tempted me to miss a flight.
The hosts were attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. As well as just being generally a delight to chat to.
For a private room/bathroom, options of breakfast, wonderfully friendly owners, basically in the centre of Amsterdam.. it couldn't have been any better. Would definitely come again.

As a budget hotel in a very popular tourist area Kooyk Hotel was ok. Comfortable, clean bed, with bathroom for own use, and a friendly welcome on arrival. Remember to take flip flops or similar as our bathroom was a few metres down a corridor. Room was very small, stairs very steep and narrow (both the width of the staircase & the depth of stair tread) so tricky for anyone with limited mobility. Decor just seemed tired and only just about ok. Did not try the breakfast but breakfast room looked nice. Tram at Leidesplein about 5 mins walk (links including central station). Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum a pleasant stroll away (through the park, if you like). Nice bars & restaurants nearby.

Excellent stay. Lovely location. All clean and tidy. However beds really soft which struggled to sleep as double bed was also two singles pushed together.

The hosts were friendly. We expected a double bed, but received two twin beds pushed together. The exterior bathroom was down the hallway (not close). The small room did not face either the canal or a garden, but an air shaft. The location is good, with easy tram access.

Travelling on a budget and stayed here as it was one of the cheapest hotels we could find in amsterdam that suited out needs.
It's in the perfect location (everything is a short walk away), owner was really friendly and welcoming and made our stay enjoyable.
Room was comfy and provided everything you need.
Shared showers and toilets were always very clean and look new! Was really no problem sharing as was like they were our own anyway.
All in all wouldn't fault and would recommend to other budget travellers

The hotel was clean and in a wonderfully central location. And the lovely owners provide a luggage storage option which is great if you have a late flight back. I was very impressed with this hotel.

My experience at the Kooyk hotel was fitting with the cost. The room was comfortable and clean enough. The shared washroom down the hall was convenient. The very tiny toilet booth was uncomfortable. Be prepared for steep stairs and small steps. The hotel was well located near tram lines and many restaurants.

My wife and I stayed at the Kooyk Hotel when in Amsterdam to attend a gig at the Paradiso. The location was taken into account when choosing the hotel. We got the airport shuttle bus from Schiphol which drops off at the Leidesplein stop a five minute walk from hotel. The Paradiso was a ten minute walk and all the bars and restaurants of Leidesplein just around the corner. The hotel itself was very clean and warm, and the staff friendly and helpful. I felt the 3pm check in was a bit late as we had a morning arrival, but we were able to drop or bags off at 11am. In all had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to use again when staying in that area. Convenient and Clean.

Likes: good location close to museums and walking distance to transportation, shops. Room looks like pictures displayed. Spacious. Quiet with canal view. Shared toilets and shower rooms which were clean.
Dislikes: they do not have air conditioning. In fact when we asked about it. The staff member said this is a one-star hotel. We then asked for a fan as it was a 35C day. They said they don’t have any more but they were using it for themselves. They don’t have a 24hr desk so they could have offered it overnight and return it the next day but refused to.

Terrible. TV didn't work, no TV remote, bathrooms were disgusting (urine on the toilet and walls). We were woken at 7am by a construction crew doing work on the exterior of the building. They were literally drilling into our wall with loud power tools (hearing damage noise levels) at 7 in the morning. When i complained to the hotel management in a polite way, i was given a very rude response. Which upset me even more.
