Veluwe Hotel de Beyaerd

I arrived to the property at 8.45pm. Signage like where to park etc. is non existant. Eventually I found the main building but it was dark and locked. Reception was not manned. I found a number to call but came throughj to a call centre in Amsterdam who directed me to a safe-deposit box that I opened with a code and found a note in Dutch and a key with a room number. There was also a map of the property. Eventually I came the closest I could to the building named and found that I had teh room key card but the door into the building was locked and I had no key. I called again the the call centre ans the put me on hold and then told me someone would be with me in 10-15 minutes. Actually it took 25 minutes for someone to arrive, he took me to the room but spoke no English but managed to explain that he was security only. In total it took me 1 hour and 35 minutes to get to me room. I needed something from my car, but was afraid that if I went out I would not be able to get back in! Next morning at around 8 I packed my bags and took them with me to go to reception and to eat breakfast that I had paid for. The recption was now open but unmanned and nobody around at all. No breakfast to be found either. I have been travelling for 35 years and never had such a bad experience.

I had a number of stays at this place, and it never disappoints. Great quality, services and cleanliness and the breakfast is superb. Thanks for great Hospitality.

The hotel is good and the services also great. But there is something on the window at our room that made constant noises so we couldn't sleep good.

Property has nice surroundings for walking.

Main areas of the hotel, the restaurant and breakfast were great. Rooms all around the lawn and pool area gives a really nice feel. Room was spacious and good size. Furniture a bit tired but bed was big and comfy.

Very nice and amazing area

Loved our stay! The sauna was not working but we were offered a complimentary drink which was appreciated. Very relaxing room, spacious and super clean. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Staff was unbelievably rude at this hotel. If a good experience is what you'd like, do not stay at this hotel. Rude staff.

Very quiet and peaceful hotel. Great breakfast and large rooms. Bonus if a swimming pool to enjoy in the hot weather. Staff very friendly

Nice hotel with good facilities like a gym and outdoor pool and I can tell the food in the restaurant was amazing. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not rich, and they offered just boiled eggs because of the pandemic situation but from my point of view that was just a reason to make things easier for them.

The pool is in the centre of the complex of rooms. EVERY night at around 12.00am/1.30am and again at 5.30/6.00am a group of men had a pool party, shouting and jumping in the pool. Despite politely telling reception every morning, nothing was done. We ate in the restaurant every night. We usually arrived around 8.30pm, but each night the staff made us unwelcome with comments about the kitchen closing. We had been told it was open until 9.00pm. There was no obvious place to go to ask for a table, only a bar with no one behind it most of the time, but when we sat down they were always upset even if we went to try and find someone to see if it was alright to sit there. I have never such astonishingly rude behaviour and appalling customer service. A colleague from Germany who was dining with friends had also received the same treatment as did some Americans who dared to sit in the restaurant at 9.01! If the hotel expects its guests to undertake some specific ritual in order to dine in the hotel restaurant then it would be a good idea to inform them when they check in. One particular older girl was the most shocking and a girl who had only just started working there who told us they were busy and stressed (the restaurant was half empty) and we were very rude to sit at a table without their permission! Our drinks were slammed down on the down on the table and we waited 50 minutes for food. The guy on check out told us he had a "skin like an elephant" when customers complained.

Very pleasant stay. Staff were very helpful. Food was excellent.

The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Plenty of parking in the well kept gardens and hotel grounds. Lots of optional activities available at the hotel.

Lovely place. Good food. Cleaning and bar staff excellent. One piece of advice: Check your bill; tried to overcharge us by €200.00.

Up : Location in a very nice garden. Quiet Breakfast is really fresh Professional staff Down: very old structure. Carpeted floor: carpet is BLACK ! Breakfast start at 8am (and this is the reason of my low point review, they can make an effort). It s not cheap at all.

Very friendly, room was basic but great value for a budget short break with the family.

The hotel is perfect for the price we paid. The only exception is the number and quality of towels which is unacceptable in a dutch ranked 4*.
