Great place to stay! Lovely staff! they were really helpful. Definitely stay again.
Just as a side note, don't go to nearby restaurant called Platform 8.....worst service ever. Felt like I was a burden for asking for one Indian (no other type of food available) dish. Read Google reviews.

We only stayed one night, but we were very happy with this property. We looked out the window & it was quite dirty……we simply closed the window curtains. The unit was wonderful. When we return, we will re-book here.

Front desk people were incredibly polite and helpful. The location is excellent for getting onto trains in and out of Auckland. It is located in a historic building that is just beautiful. We dine at the Indian restaurant in the lobby of the old train station building and the meal was very good. We also walked around the neighborhood and did some shopping for food to take on the train. There are many restaurant options in the neighborhood. It was very convenient for us to get on the train to Wellington, which is only a 5 minute walk away.

Unfortunately we were unaware that the very loud railway ran right next to the building, outside our windows. Woke us up every time it went past.
The restaurant downstairs was quiet and unassuming but the food was delicious. The room itself was alright, I really appreciated that it came with a hairdryer. Very clean. The foyer was beautiful.

The architecture in main areas was grand. The rooms were very basic. Of course it was the prior Grand Central station, so trains still run. Therefore noisy.

For an extremely fancy building, it’s very old school and basic inside. It was nice and clean and good sized rooms, but all other facilities were very basic. Perfect for a budget trip.
