Kaikoura Waterfront Apartments

Room disappointed us, it was around the back of the block with no view. The bathroom was very small, there was no table and the kitchen had an esky size fridge. Family rooms appeared spacious, not a suitable place to stay for a couple.

Lovely apartment central to everything Kaikōura has to offer. Walking distance to town. Beach across the road. Ultra comfy. Great staff.

Like: nice unit with generous supply of cooking and dinning kit. Dislike: no extraction in shower room, and wallpaper (?) peeling above shower. No curtains in bedrooms - blinds don't cut it either in evening or morning!

We enjoyed our stay which was right opposite the water. The kitchen was ver usable. The location was excellent and we were able to walk to many places.

The property was clean, and nicely decorated, the pots were small and pan had seen better days. I had a reservation for Oceanview ground floor and I ended up with a partial view second floor, I’m not sure why the discrepancy in the reservation, we were just told that’s all they had. Grateful that they had a room, could’ve been worse.

Property manager Poppy was so kind and made our stay comfortable and memorable. The property is in a great location that’s walking distance to the Kaikoura town centre. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Kaikoura.

I'm a leisure traveller and usually make it a point to stay at the best accommodation i can find. This visit to Kaikoura however i was there for a very brief stay (just one night) so i decided to be a bit frugal. I was pleasantly surprised when went there. The property was right next to the beach, had ample space and was well managed. But the highlight of the trip was the hospitality. The hosts were super kind and friendly, and put up with my capricious requests at odd hours with warmth and generosity of spirit. Was it the fanciest place I've lived it? No. It is purposefully comfortable without being extravagant, and does show its age in a few places (i did pick the economy room though so it may have had something to do with it), but i slept well, had nice peaceful surroundings and everything was walkable. You don't go to Kaikoura to see the walls of a hotel room. You go there to enjoy breathtaking scenery and warmth of its people and this place delivered both!

One of the best beds of the trip. Sea views from the balcony, nice kitchen and washing machine. Very comfortable and satisfactory!
