We loved our stay at Opononi Lighthouse, in fact we decided to stay several more nights. Very friendly and helpful owner, a great unit and beautiful gardens. Right opposite the beach and very handy to the local 4 Square and other shops. We would certainly go back there again. :)

This property is delightful! It is easy to find, right across the road from the beach. There are several dining/drinking options, and a well supplied kitchen in the units in case you prefer to eat at home. The hosts are friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, keeping a clean, comfortable, and efficient proprty, as well as a beautiful garden. Take time to smell the roses in Opononi.

Lovely location by the Water front, beautiful gardens, supermarket 5 minures walk where we could buy stuff to cook on the communal BBQ.

We stayed with our UK whanau for 2 nights and as we'd experienced before it was an enjoyable experience. Lovely clean rooms, warm welcome and relaxing spa, what more could you want! Oh, and the beautiful Hokianga Harbour and mighty sand dunes are just across the road, a gruelling 1 minute walk to view - awesome😊 Nearby shops, Hotels, fish n chips very handy and easy walking too. Well be back for sure.

When undertaking a "roadie" like we are, one experiences many different standards, styles & prices of motel, but strewth at $NZ220 a night for this place it's ridiculously overpriced !
Yes, it's clean, yes the room's got space, yes we slept OK....but heck it's very old style & needs a total revamp. The bathroom area in room 10 was incredibly small - even had separate hot & cold taps - that's old style! .
Plus no view from the room of the lovely Hokianga River 50m away! .
On the plus side the location's great & the lady at check in was lovely & welcoming!
