A nice clean hotel, beautifully decorated room with plenty of electrical outlets, soft lighting options. We really enjoyed our stay at Muse. The location is super convenient as it is 2 minutes away from the bus station and a big supermarket. The staff was friendly and professionnal. We’d come back, if in Christchurch again.

Our room looked onto a internal stairwell and was small and dark. The decor was lovely but the room didn't have much aspect. Ask for a street view room. It was Saturday night and the Roof Top Bar pumped out music to 1.30am but the noise wasn't unbearable more of an nuisance.

The Muse Hotel is okay. Just…. ok. Fitout is cheap, trying to look funky and designer and luxe but sadly failing. One of those places that looks fairly swish when it’s brand spanking new but really doesn’t last. Think: when Kmart rips off a designer product - it looks the part, sort of, but isn’t really. Or your mate who brings back ‘Gucci’ from Thailand - they think it makes them look like a serious contender, but those in the know can spot it from a mile off.
Front desk staff lacklustre at best.
The huge positive however is its great central location which is super handy. Also bumped into cleaning staff in the elevator twice in my short stay and they were super polite and friendly.
In short: for a quick overnight stay where you’re out more than you’re in, it’s fine - and you could definitely do a lot worse. Not bad, but not great - just… ok. But if you’re looking for somewhere special or with staff who truly love the industry, it’s not the place.
Bit of a shame really as I can see where they were trying to go… but they just haven’t executed it well enough.

Nice place to stay, it used to be nice though. Over the last few years it has become increasingly more broken feeling with unpainted areas in the room corners, broken curtain rails, cement dust piles, broken runner for the bathroom door, things like that. There was also no included parking option in December 2024 despite the website and Expedia saying there was.
Its a good enough place though, walking distance to pretty much everything in the CBD, small fridge in the room, and comfy bed, but overpriced, because of the things above, despite the attraction of the art in the hallways.

Loved out city stay at The Muse - lovely corner room on a high floor with views over the new stadium. Charles on front desk was an outstanding host. The Pink Lady was average staff not very welcoming which we have encountered before - all in all a lovely option if you like quirky boutique hotels which we do.

The room was comfortable and well appointed, the ongoing construction right beside the hotel was a significat distraction, it affected the view from our window.
On the positive note, location is excellent with easy access to the nearby malls.
If the construction is not a concern this hotel is a good option.

I booked a twin room and was given a king, it was late and we were tired so it wasn't worth going back down to see if we could move rooms so we made it work. The room was well appointed and clean. We were directly under the bar/restaurant and it was quiet in our room which was a blessing, though the construction next door started up about 0630.
