three staff standing behind the counter but i was directed to a kiosk to check in. not welcoming at all and to be honest soured my experience overall.
i didn't realize that there was a rail yard behind the hotel - very noisy, especially at night.
not much in the way of restaurants nearby except for a Vietnamese which was closed.
room was ok but easy to hear outside noises and conversations / tv from other rooms.
wouldnt stay again at this hotel and would be reluctant to stay at a sebel in the future.

First night rubbish bin still full from previous person. Stayed 3 nights, normally put my dishes in washer each day but left in a hurry one day and came back to still half full cold coffee etc. Had to wash dishes so i had a clean glass and clean mug to use. Bed was only made properly on one side. Clearly needed vaccum. Probably wouldn't stay again for that price

Sebel Thorndon great location to catch the ferry to Picton in the morning. No need for a restaurant due to just needing a bed to stay and parking for our car. Disappointed we could have parked for free on the road and paid $30 for hotel parking (check time restrictions). Bed, king size pillows, so comfortable, great shower and products. Bonus was the coffee machine. Hotel is well appointed, we highly recommend.
