There were little good dining options nearby. Property appears to be new with flat-pack furnishings and dated leather couches (mix n match). Modern kitchen, very good amenities all Bosch appliances. Apartment with good views and balcony from living room but, loose tiles on balcony makes it feel unstable/unsafe. Can sometimes hear children crying and dog barking from other apartments. Clean bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Good water pressure. Spacious shower cubicles. Poorly designed toilet position and toilet paper holder. No hooks on the back of bathroom door. Apartment is very spacious with full kitchen, internal laundry and a full-sized fridge! Had minimal interaction with staff but they did not volunteer any tourist information- very much self serviced. I guess good internet speed made up for that. But too bad if you don’t have a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

The room was spacious and standard, but there was an unpleasant damp smell. Not all rooms are equipped with cutlery, and basic amenities were missing—there wasn’t even a bin liner.
The staff were unhelpful, inattentive, and not particularly friendly. We encountered issues with the ‘reserved’ parking—several nights it was occupied, and we were simply told, "It happens!" Parking costs $20 per stay, and though the staff offered us a spot in the open staff parking, their attitude was unwelcoming, which completely negated the point of having reserved parking. The staff waived one nights parking however felt as we had to argue this through.
Overall, the poor service ruined our stay. I wouldn't recommend this place.

It is an okay place to stay. Clean and the beds are comfortable with a good shower.
Central with available pay parking.
The reception staff was lacking and quite awkward.

We stay here whenever we come to Christchurch. Its very clean, easy to get to, good parking. Its easy to walk into town to shop or to restaurants and bars. It has a fabulous café on the ground floor. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We also think it is definitly value for money.

Establishment did not disclose that rooms are made “every 3 days”, when checking in. I did speak to the front desk AND housekeeping for them to make my room, both said yes but when we retuned to the room that evening, it was not made. Very disappointing.

In general, this is a great hotel, and staff is very friendly.
Only issue was on Dec 24 during the check out. We waited there since 6:42am, but the front desk opens at 7am. We waited 17 min until 7:05am, still no one shown up. We need to drive long way to Picton to catch the ferry to Wellington, which closes at 1:15pm for last check in. So, we just dropped the room keys to the box and left per recommendation of the hotel cafe staff.

The hotel has a lot going for it, particularly its location. It’s in a convenient spot, making it easy to get to nearby attractions and amenities. At the same time, it’s tucked away enough to provide a quiet environment, which was great for a peaceful night’s rest.
While the stay was generally good, there wasn’t anything particularly outstanding to set it apart. However, if you’re looking for a good, well-located, and quiet place to stay, this hotel does the job well enough.
