The W Hotel

My biggest mistake in life would be lodging at such an unfortunate but beautifully located hotel. Apart from being located in Ikeja GRA, the W Hotel has nothing, absolutely nothing to offer. There is not a SINGLE thing that can be offered to you, not one. I strongly suspect the ‘W’ stands for Wonders because the signs and wonders you will regrettable experience will leave you with a perplexing trauma that I am still struggling to recover from. Let’s begin the analysis. Do we start from the mold infested water logged rooms or the fact that once there is no light, which is often, there is no water? How does it make sense for a hotel to not have a water tank? Apart from the cockroaches and spider that are very frequent visitors, you can rarely find a single soul roaming the abandoned halls of this horrible hotel. When it comes to the manager, I strongly doubt she has ever heard the word ‘responsibility’. Her unique talent is apportioning blame to her frightened, over worked and undervalued workers. How does one always have an excuse to a problem that should have been managed under their watch? Only the manager of W Hotel has mastered this strange skill with a smile and a false apology. If you want to experience what disappointment truly embodies, I would grudgingly recommend staying a night. My online brothers and sisters, I write this plea to you with my two knees touching the cold ground, do NOT follow in my footsteps, avoid this so called hotel at all COSTS!! Ps: Do not believe the positive reviews below, I strongly suspect they were written by the manager to lure in innocent victims. Dearly Beloved, Do not become a victim.

Avoid this hotel at all cost! The owner will assault you as he assaulted me and others. The rooms are dirty, food is terrible, bedsheets are not clean, toilet is not functioning, fridge is not working. The worst thing is that the owner will assault you and command his staff to video you when you react. He is known for this. He is a politician and connected so it's a long fight to freedom. His name is Hon. Adebowale Collins. My advice if you've been wronged is to contact the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission; they have an office in Ikeja GRA. The W hotel is the worst hotel in Nigeria! Avoid this terrible place!

I wish there was a negative star. Avoid this property at all cost. First they tried to scam me. They were not honest about the price on the restaurant menu in the beginning and they overcharged everything. One time my breakfast didn’t come after literally 4 hours (first 2 hours they made wrong order; then another 2 hours to fix the right order) Second, they have management issue. I saw the boss scolded the staff in front of me for small issue. Staffs found slept in the restaurant couch in the breakfast time. Lastly don’t trust everything you see in the pictures. They have a messy and dead swimming pool area. There were no lights in the room hallways despite it being requested to be on at all time (the hotel is dark and creepy enough). During my 4 days stay here I didn’t see any other guest than myself i guess that explained.

I left an earlier comment that was not very flattering. But I do have to come back and say that things did improve after the a day or so. The staff was pretty exceptional once I got over the issues at check in, and the bed situation, which I ended up taking care of myself. The best thing about the hotel is the service!!! I honestly can't say I've had better service anywhere else, and I've been in a few. It would have been EXCELLENT if the Manager had bothered to speak with us. And please please fix the gym!

The receptionists(particularly a lady named Precious) are God sent. Ever willing to help you with anything within their capacity to make your stay better. Asides from the room I stayed being small(I guess that's what my money could get😅) every other thing was great. The clean poolside is also free to all guests. Also, the locaction of this hotel is splendid!
