I think Thon hotels has the best breakfast. I am a vegetarian and there are so many healthy options. We also enjoyed the room; It was clean, spacious and the beds were comfortable. The front desk service was also stellar. Just note: if you have a car, you might look for parking in the street during off hours as it will be less costly. But even more worthy of note, the garage is quite small and so it is best to have a small vehicle to manage in and out. But that is a small price to pay compared to the overall experience. I should also note that the hotel is centrally located, thought it is difficult to not be since Alesund is walkable regardless of where one might stay in the "sentrum" area.

I had a wonderful stay at Thon Hotel Ålesund. It’s the most comfortable hotel in my trip ( I tried 4 hotels) that I would highly recommend to stay for your travel. The hotel surrounding is quiet, safe and with plenty nice restaurants and bar options, super convenient. It also close to a light house which great for sunset or after dinner walk. The hotel breakfast offers wide range of food options, all are fresh and delicious. The room facilities are well maintained and clean, very nice design with many mirror at the room. The bed is very comfortable. I would love to stay here again if I visit Ålesund.

Christina, who checked us in, was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our room was clean, comfortably, and roomy. Breakfast, as she said, was the best in alesund. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel Alesund is fantastic. The location is perfect and the views are breathtaking. They also serve a wonderful breakfast. My only critique would be that upon arriving, the front desk could have been friendlier. The lady behind the desk gave me a blank stare when I arrived, and when I mentioned that I wanted to check in, she sort of coldly told me to come back at 3 PM. A simple "welcome to our hotel" would have gone a long way. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this hotel, and would be delighted to staty again.

Great location and view. Everything was fine except for the most awful (and expensive) fish and chip dinner one night. Reception staff were lovely but it is not really a top tier hotel in any way. It is a good standard hotel, though.
