Thon Hotel Panorama

Arrived in oslo with paid reservation at thon panorama (even had a confirmation the day before) only to get there and find a sign in front saying closed for refurbishing and that booked guests should call this number. I had to turn on roaming and international calling and spend 30 min on hold to be told my hotel was moved across town to a different hotel. It wasn’t walkable so I went into a different hotel and they graciously called me a taxi ($40). I missed my pre booked sauna for 3 reservation so that cost me $75. The hotel they put me (thon slottsparken) was nice and courteous and had they given me a warning, I’d have been happy to get off right by there from airport and make it to the sauna. Not telling me I’m advance was completely unacceptable. It cost me $115 in transaction costs and hours of aggravation. Completely unprofessional.

The hotel is very central with parking under the property. Professional personnel. Nice and very large room with separate living, cooking corner, bedroom and very spacious bathroom. Continental breakfast with fresh juicies. All round nice experience and perfect for meetings downtown.

Staff were amazing , helpful and friendly. The hotel was located in the perfect spot as it was close to everything ! Would definitely recommend to everyone

Thon Hotel Panorama i located in the very heart of Oslo. And as the name says has excellent views of the city. The breakfast is the best, with a wide variety of things to choose from, and the quality is great. All in all things are great - the only thing that stands out is the bathroom, with is not great. Actually it's poorly designed. When you shower there is no curtain, and the shower isnt big - at all. the water goes everywhere and has been going everywhere for some time. You can tell by the look of the furniture in the bathroom. Too me its so annoying that you have to plan the showering, because you don't want to be stuck in front of the mirror standing in water to your elbows. So fix the shower and everything is... great!

The staff were absolutely amazing, courteous, helpful and friendly. Great location, within 10 minutes walk of all the main city centre tourist sites and the harbour for catching the ferry over to Bygdoy for the museums. The hotel is really clean and there is a very good breakfast, plenty of variety and good quality produce. Rooms were spacious and very clean. There were two little negatives for me: I really don't like wet room type showers as it leaves the whole bathroom floor wet and secondly, the room door was incredibly difficult to open. I had to put down everything I was carrying and use both hands to really wrench the door open. It was also difficult to open from the inside which is a bit worrying and could be considered a fire hazard. Overall though it's a great hotel, great value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Hreat location.

Nothing outstanding. Good hotel. Walking distance from train station. Which is very convenient because train shuttle to airport is running every 10 minutes.

Family room was a bit on the small side and there was a kitchen in the room with cooker, oven and fridge but no cooking utensils and eating equipment which was strange. Besides that, staff was very friendly, breakfast very rich and tasty, location also great for exploring Oslo for a short time. Another nice thing was the complementary tea and coffee in the lobby. All in all we recommend this hotel and had a great time. We understood that they will be refurbishing all the rooms very soon so this is a plus. Thank you!

Great place, walking distance to center and wharf/port. Room was very spacious, staff was very nice and breakfast was superb!

Our stay was very good. The hotel was very central to shopping and fishermen’s wharf. We loved the breakfast!

First impression was awful. Then it got better the next day. Panorama indicates a nice view. The room they gave us had a view of a skylight and the bottom of the balconies on the floors above. They gave us a partial refund and we enjoyed the rest of our stay.

My ten-year-old said, "This is the best hotel ever!" when being given an ice cream after check-in. LOL. But this IS the best hotel so far during our trip this time. The room is BIG! Make sure to go to the top floor and check out the view! We had an early flight the next morning and they were kind enough to pack us bagged breakfast to go. Will definitely come back!

We stay at the Thon Hotel Panorama for one night. It was an easy walk to the train station and the opera house. Our room was adequate and clean and had a balcony overlooking Oslo. The only real complaint was that the shower had only a short piece of glass separating it from the rest of the bathroom and it really did no good. Otherwise, the hotel was fine for one night.

Great breakfast, nice helpful staff and quaint, relaxing courtyard.

Our stay was very good. Hotel is conveniently located close to central station and bus stops. Hotel’s luggage room service is excellent and it saved us from extra hassle of lugging our luggage. Thank you.

We found the hotel’s location good as it was just a short walk from the main train station. Clean and comfortable rooms. We really liked the small balcony to sit on. Great breakfast.
