Spend week in this hotel, christmas time. Excellent location with pool and sun terrace on the roof. Not many hotels in the Funchal center have those. Nice service. There are issues: The main restaurant of the hotel was closed, due to renovation. Breakfast, very simple and basic, was served at breakfast room. Didn't know this when i booked my reservation. Would have been nice to sit on lounge bar and maybe have a dinner in the main restaurant. Don't know when it will open again...? In the rooftop terrace once had a kind of a "burger", the meat was whole meat, very stiff, hard to eat, not ground beef as i expected. In my first room tv didn't work, have to change room on the second day of my visit, when i first try to watch television. All and all, would visit again, hopefully the main restaurant would be open then. Location is excellent, also big shopping centre Plaza Madeira near, you have fridge in your room.

Perfect location to explore the old town of Funchal.
Very clean and tidy.
Staff were exceptional, warm , friendly couldn't do enough for us . They even baked a cake for my partner's birthday.
Bar staff even tuned in any sport on the TV that I requested.
Five star treatment, would definitely stay again.

Going home to Scotland tomorrow after 2weeks in this hotel I must say it was fantastic ❤️staff brilliant and a big hands up to bar staff on roof top bar Elizabeth loved you to bits and Katrina you were also brilliant ❤️ would highly recommend this hotel, and also cleaning staff for rooms ❤️were fantastic even though I never seen them but room was perfect every time we went out and came back in thank yous, we will be back 🥰🥰

Small clean hotel, me er stayed this visit just used roof bar. Friendly inexpensive drinks, live music, food ok,had problem with life during visit as disabled a bit difficult walking down stairs, otherwise nice place to stay

Recently returned from 2 week stay. Great hotel, good situation and very good staff. Would love to return there but have concerns re the senior management.
The hotel website gives a fair representation of the rooms and services including the statement that ‘tea and coffee is provided’ - there was no coffee and supplies of tea bags ceased after 3 days. Asked for more at reception but was told that ‘guests must buy their own….’ So we did.
What does it say about the management when they behave in such a petty, penny pinching fashion?
