Praia Dourada Hotel

Unfortunately this hotel has been a big letdown. The room was infested with ants, especially the bathroom - in the evening there were hundreds of them. The staff offered a bug spray as the only solution and explained that this is “normal” for Porto Santo. We didn’t get offered a different room. Besides that, the facilities were extremely dated and not clean - there was dust everywhere, stains on the curtains, lampshades, even bedding. The room overall was very basic and small. The TV had very bad signal. We didn’t use the pool but it didn’t seem like the pool and surrounding area was cleaned frequently either - the outdoor shower had a huge cockroach swimming in the floor and you could see dirt at the bottom of the pool. Breakfast was better than we expected after reading some reviews. They had a simple but sufficient selection of breads, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt and cereals. The coffee machine seemed to be a bit broken because I got hot chocolate instead of coffee for two days in a row. The only positive thing about the place was that they accommodated our early check-in, which after a long trip was very appreciated. All in all, this is definitely not a 3 star hotel. I would avoid this hotel until they increase their hygiene standards and take the complaints from their guests more seriously.

3 star hotel that is very well located in porto santo. The breakfast ins so and so, and there are no elevators, not very kids friendly if you bring your stroller. The price is also not very cheap, but accommodation in porto santo is expensive in general

Got a room overlooking the pool. Very noisy as a school group was there. And the poolbar playing music until midnight. But asked reception to be changed and they where very helpful. Breakfast is very basic at the least. Dry bread, well ripe bananas, 2 kinds of very plain yoghurt. Coffe tasted well off. But good location if you are ready to put up with a few bits

We just stayed at the hotel for one night, but the hotel matched all of our expectation with a very reasonable price. The room was big and the bed was comfortable. That's all we need. The staffs at the reception are really kind and nice to us. We checked in at 10pm but they were really welcoming. The hotel located 3-5 minutes walk from the beach and the central! Many restaurants around and 5 minutes from the airport. Recommended for short stay in Porto Santo island

Very old Hotel. All self service, even heating up your milk. Our room 309 was ok but bringing yr luggage to the 3rd floor is not easy. ‼️ Employees worth 5 stars. ‼️ Breakfast is very basic fir a 3 star, bread, croissants etc where always dry, so we went to a pastelaria having fresh bread & a good coffee.
