The 8 Downtown Suites

Nice enough hotel, although the air conditioning unit leaked in our room and front desk staff wouldn't do anything about it. The breakfast was limited but did the job if you liked bread and croissants, which weren't replenished quickly enough! We stayed on the 5th floor but we had someone above us stomping up and down their room in all hours of the night, really bizarre and very loud. Best part was the location as it's a short walk away from most of Lisbon's sights. Wouldn't stay here again but it was fine for a couple of nights.

This is a nice little hotel, located within an easy walk to several places of interest. In fact, it is right near a beautiful church. There are also a TON of dining options nearby, including a supermarket and produce market. The best thing about this hotel is, by far, the employees. They are all spectacularly helpful and were so positive and happy during every single encounter we had with them. They gave us recommendations for places to see, places to eat, which trains and trams were the best for what we wanted, and on and on. It really made the experience in Lisbon that much better. The one thing I didn't particularly care for was the minor repairs that had not been done. I understand this is a 200-year old building, however, broken, rotted wood in the bathroom floor and broken counter area behind the sink are things that can be easily fixed and improve the hotel drastically. The bed was ok, as far as comfort, but the room was quite spacious, which was wonderful. There was a nice set of windows we could open and get some fresh air, there was air conditioning, and a mini fridge in the cabinets. I would recommend this hotel, especially if they perform some minor repairs. The location and the staff make the minor issues seem almost non-existent.

The location of the hotel is great however the rooms are fairly mediocre. Not the worst and not the best I’ve stayed at. I would recommend this for people who have never been to Lisbon and want to be walking distance to the main square. If you’re not planning on spending much time in your rooms, this is a good spot. I found ours to be quite small, fortunately it was just two of us. I saw a review that mentions being on the 5th floor and having to lug the luggage, which is exactly what happened to us. It definitely was not easy, but I have also stayed at places in France that were the same. Unfortunately old Europe doesn’t always have the modernization of elevators.

Location is great and service was good but condition of hotel was poor. We were given room on 5th floor and elevator is only going to 3d floor so be prepared to drag your luggage 2 flights up. Condition of room was poor and smelled like sewage. We had view of hanging laundry and trash. No space for your clothes and moldy shower

Everything was absolutely perfect! We asked lots of things from the hotel staff and they helped us so kindly. The location is perfect, you feel like you are in the middle of the city, you can go everywhere by walking. The room is so clean. We feel that this is one the best hotels to stay in Lisbon.
