Very comfortable bed, good curtains to keep out light and a decent breakfast all contributed to a pleasant stay. Staff were cheerful and helpful.
And the Bo'vine restaurant serves a good meal. The market value meals actually are pretty good value - big portions as well as tasty food,

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was spotless but carpark was very busy so arrive early.

The hotel was disappointing and looked tired. Although the room was clean, there was sign of wear and tear, marked headboard, chipped woodwork/furniture. The toilet didn’t want to flush, the shower gel dispenser empty and the radiator didn’t work. There was also a constant tapping coming from somewhere. No do not disturb sign. Breakfast was okay, not great. Overall we were disappointed, shame really as it is a beautiful building from the outside.

Handy location for byres road. Easy walk from hillhead underground station.
The bar was well stocked and lively.
Breakfast was reasonably priced for a hotel (booking the night before is cheaper £11 than deciding on the day ).
Cooked veggie choices at breakfast were quite limited by modern standards though.
And perhsps because it was christmas the party going on in the function suite was audible in our 2nd floor bedroom until after midnight.

Unfortunately our expectations of this hotel were higher than what our experience was. On arrival, we were greeted nicely by the receptionist. However, we were not asked about breakfast and were not given any advice as to how to add this to our booking. The room itself was nice, however under bed was filthy and I found a long black hair under my quilt.
The bathroom was clean however all the soaps were watery and not at all pleasant to use.
We felt that for the price we paid and having stayed in hotels of a similar standard, we would have expected more.

The property is in a convenient location close to shops and restaurants which we really liked. We had a challenge getting housekeeping service, we kept having to call to request it every evening because they didn't come during the day while we were out. They need more staff in general, there's usually only 1 person at the front desk so the phone goes unanswered.
