What an amazing gem in Phalaborwa. Host was super friendly and on point with everything. The rooms were spotless nothing was spared on attention to detail. I would highly recommend any traveler to this Guesthouse.

Quiet, peaceful setting with beautiful grounds. Rooms are large, clean and very private. Has pool and bbq area. We were warmly welcomed by Dave our host, who, along with his wife, Sam, was extremely helpful throughout our stay. All of his recommendations panned out as promised. We stayed there as a base to explore Kruger Park. Great experience!

Sunbird is a wonderful B&B with gracious hosts, beautiful grounds including a fab swimming pool and quiet rooms. Breakfast was 5 star. We had a 2 night stay 6 of us as we toured Kruger. Recommend it.

I always stay at Sunbird Lodge when visiting Phalaborwa. Truth be told there is honestly no point looking for anywhere else. Large room with private veranda, fridge, tea & coffee, cable TV, private bathroom (shower only) secure parking.

My family and I spent a night at Sunbird Lodge after leaving the Kruger National Park. The Lodge is ideally suited for exploring the park as it is situated just outside the park's Phalaborwa Gate. The owners are charming and very welcoming and gave us a thorough explanation of both the property and the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the showers are excellent. The property has a pool, bar area and pretty gardens and you can sit on the patio outside your room and enjoy a drink at the end of a day's exploring. The breakfast is hearty and delicious and starts the day off well. This property represents excellent value for money and I would highly recommend it to anybody visiting the area.

Overall it was great. Only issue was at checkout the concierge booked our taxi earlier than we requested. Just a minor inconvenience in an otherwise wonderful hotel with good service.

Our host could not have been more welcoming and efficient and the property was beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, the town of Phalaborwa was hit by a severe storm the day before our arrival which resulted in considerable damage to the area. Nevertheless, our host had worked hard to minimize the effect on our stay.

Really no point in looking at other accommodation in Phalaborwa. Very pleasant and friendly hosts and staff. Large comfortable room, DSTV, fridge, air-con, large shower (pressure good but would change the shower head to a rainfall) Large gardens with all types of birds, squirrels as well, secure parking and centrally located. Good breakfast and Honesty bar. Highly recommended.

Sunbird Lodge was our first lodging experience on our first trip to South Africa and they definitely delivered an outstanding experience. Our rooms were clean and spacious, the grounds were lovely and immaculate, and the hosts and staff were fantastic! Their dining suggestions and advice about grocery shopping, Kruger park, etc. were perfect, and their breakfast was top notch. Although excited about visiting Kruger NP (incredibly close and convenient), I had a twinge of regret that we were leaving Sunbird so soon. Next time we visit Phalaborwa, we'll be sure to build in a bit more time overcome our jetlag and enjoy Sunbird longer. Thank you for the great hospitality, Sunbird. It was perfect introduction to an incredible journey.
