The Village Lodge

I should have stayed for a longer period. Absolutely love this area.

We were only there for one night but Simone was very welcoming and helpful.

Not fancy but clean, safe and friendly. Very good value

I loved my stay at the lodge. The staff were all lovely and very friendly which made the stay even more special. The room (Loerie) was quiet, clean and comfortable and the electronic blankets were a great addition. The grounds were absolutely beautiful with great views of mountains and immaculate. gardens. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh and very tasty. I also appreciated the freshly cooked hot options of eggs, bacon etc. The location is also great within the village which allowed us to walk to diner each night and it was a quick drive to the Big Tree and also the National Park. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic and friendly

We stayed at The Village Lodge during a work/family trip. The staff were friendly and helpful and the property was well maintained on the outside. Inside the room, the finishes looked a bit tired/old, but overall in okay condition. The room seems to be in need of some upkeep. Our daughter slept in the bunk bed and woke up in the morning with bites all over her from what can only be bed bugs, as she was in a separate bed to us, and we were fine sleeping in the main bed. The staff did change the sheets for us the next day, but we didn't chance it to have her sleep in that bed again, so she slept in the main bed. Other than this buggy situation, the stay was not bad. Food options nearby are limited but with our busy schedules we ordered from the only place available, which was okay.

Our stay was very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and helpful and room was very neat and clean with fresh folwers 😀. There are lots of great activities and walking trails in the area.

Easy check in, very helpful staff. Right in the middle of town with a brewery and 80s diner directly opposite. Breakfast was also lovely!

More of a backpackers type lodge

Great place for a stop over. Clean and spacious rooms.

Lovely, helpful staff. Enjoyed the outdoor fireplace, complete with blankets and couches. Great homemade breakfast.

We loved everything about it! For family of 4, the room was great, breakfast was super, and the best was Sophie who was very informative and made our trip even better

This place is like a one horse town , the guesthouse is located in the center close to everything the rooms are clean and functionable this place to me felt like a backpackers with individual rooms there is a communal area which you can cook your own food and have beer and wine and comfortable sofia. But the down side is that it is outside the rooms so can be a bit noisy from other guests The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was reasonable. Personally i felt this was overpriced compared with other places I've stayed in south Africa

We loved our stay at the village lodge! The room was well proportioned and clean and had great views to the mountains. The breakfast was great and had a good selection of cereal, fruit and muffins as well as your choice for a cooked breakfast! It’s in a fantastic location in the middle of the village, so most stuff is just a quick stroll away! The staff were very friendly and helped us book some activities during our stay which we really appreciated, plus we got a full load of laundry done for R80 which was amazing!! I highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed!

Great place for family !

Lovely room facing a pretty garden. The bed was extremely comfortable however the towels were a bit worn. The room could have been improved with a safe, a fridge and a few ammenities like hair conditioner. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lodge is positioned close to walking paths through the tsitsikamma forest.
