AC Hotel Som by Marriott

My wife and I stayed for three nights at the AC Hotel Som in Barcelona during our recent visit to Spain. We were celebrating our anniversary on this trip, and the staff at this hotel were nice enough to put some chocolate covered dates and a special "Happy Anniversary" note in our room. A very nice touch and a great surprise for us when we arrived in our room. The front desk staff was also nice enough to give us a map and walk us through the public transportation stops that are only a couple blocks away from the hotel. Now, the AC Hotel Som is not a luxury hotel by anyone's standard. The room was clean, well appointed, and because I do have some status with Marriott, I was able to use the mini bar free of charge during our stay, which give us access to some sodas, beer, water, and snacks. By European standards, the room was fairly spacious and my wife and I had plenty of room to open our suitcases, hang clothes, etc. We also purchased the rooms with breakfast included using a special promotion that they had as the time, and while the breakfast was busy most days, the breakfast food and staff were some of the best during our stay in Spain. The breakfast staff made me fresh coffee and brought my wife hot water for her tea when requested. The pastries, fruit, and yogurt selections were very fresh, and of course, the selection of bread, meats and cheeses were excellent. All in all, you can't go wrong with the breakfast option here. Because of our itinerary during our stay, we didn't have a chance to try drinks or the restaurant during the evening at the hotel. So, I really can't say much about that except that the bar looked to be well stocked and the bar staff seemed to be friendly. As I mentioned above, we had great luck navigating the subway system in Barcelona which is only a short walk away from the hotel just across the main road, and Google maps got us to our destination faithfully. There is also a good-sized mall very close by for more dining options as well as some shopping if you forget something for your trip. Now, if you want to be in the middle of downtown Barcelona, there are plenty of options for you there. However, AC Hotel Som is a great, reasonably priced option, especially for the Marriott loyalists out there!

We stayed at this hotel in August 2024. It is a beautiful hotel located across the street from the shopping mall. Bus & Metro stops are within a short walking distance. This hotel is modern and is absolutely spotless. Front desk staff were very helpful. Restaurant and bar on site, plus many small bars, restaurants, & shops are located very close by. A great place to stay.

Absolutely awesome staff from the cleaning personnel to the best barman Alfonso to the fantastic, kind and helpful reception. The rooms are comfortable and they have a very good breakfast! Thank you guys for my amazing stay at your hotel.

Room was clean and spacious. Receptionist was accommodating to let us check in earlier especially since we came from a long haul flight. Free bread and coffee daily. It’s 30 mins away from the city center. Would stay here again!

Lovely Hotel. The rooms were great, clean, and well serviced. Breakfast selection was extensive and delicious. Resturants close by. A little away from the city center requires taxis. Metro station close by. The highlight of our stay were the staff, fun, friendly, helpful and kind. Definitely a credit to the hotel
