Hostel MYD La Latina

On my second booking, they went all shady on me, stating my ID was not valid and asking me to go to the police station to confirm the validity of my document on a Sunday when such things can only be done in consulates or embassies. I showed them the law. They told me that European laws don't apply in Madrid. And did not even bother reading the notice I was showing them on the official website. Lies. The "owner" turned back other reservations because of needing a "physical" document only. Which was asked of me, with my physical document. And... They said to the people not hosted because of their lies, and business dishonesty, that they would not be refunded. I asked for a refund because I had to book something else instead. They would leverage my ability to stay in their highly uncomfortable shared space as leverage to assert that they are making efforts. This place is a scam. If you look wealthy enough, because you have style, they will raise the prices. The shower was broken too. Light automatically turned on in the middle of the night. The first night I was with people talking all the time. You don't fool an entrepreneur.

I URGE YOU, DO NOT TO BOOK THIS DESPICABLE HOSTEL. They are crooks who con people. I booked a bed in this hostel for 25/10/24 and 26/10/24. I sent an email to advise I would arrive around midnight, due to my train arriving in Madrid at 23.00. When I arrived, I buzzed the intercom and received no answer, finally after 4 buzzes and the prerecorded message, someone answered. They took my name and said they have my details, but advised that the reception closed at 22.00. There is no mention of this in my confirmation email whatsoever. Then the line went dead. I had to ring several times before it was answered again. Again going through the same prerecorded message, before the same person answered. He asked where I booked, as the reception is closed, I asked why this is important if he had already confirmed my details. He then hung up, I tried calling over 15 times via the intercom and received no answer. I walked away and returned 10 minutes later and he answered, when I said my name, he hung up. I was left on the streets with nowhere to go, despite paying for 2 nights. Every hostel I phoned or went to was fully booked, leaving me in the streets, cold, wet and alone.

Friendly host. Men and women share the same room. No toilet paper, no douche gel/ soap. Bathroom floor dirty wet and disgusting. Bad matrass and cranky beds, feels like it'll fall apart anytime soon.

I chose to stay in this hostel during the holidays and for the entire time I stayed in this hostel, I did not face any problem with the cleanliness and the staff and all the services provided by them. The staff was very helpful. I would recommend everyone to definitely visit this hostel once. Special thanks to the :- Rafa receptionist.

Very good location for those who want enjoy Sunday market in the heart of Madrid which is around the corner. Very close to everything what city can offer. Staff very friendly and I am specially thanks mr rafa is very kind and good person All traveler must be visit Hostel MYD
