What a delightful stay at Karpaha Sands on the East coast of Sri Lanka . The beautiful beachfront property, great staff and fabulous food all made for a great experience. The staff here have smiles galore and are very helpful and obliging. The small touches like cookies and chocolate brought to your room in the evening, the complimentary fruit juices brought to your beach lounge, home made jams at breakfast , small taster pre dinner are lovely extras. A glitch on check in had us changing rooms and a bit disappointing start as we had rooms booked for a birthday celebration. An upgrade was offered but did not eventuate. The facilities are designed to really appreciate the sea views and breeze -pool is fabulous. Our favourite slingshot guy kept the pesky crows away. We had a lovely time with our family and friends from Australia. East coast of Sri Lanka is our favourite..Kalkudah did not disappoint. A little slice of paradise

An oasis on an incredible beach, no other resorts within miles, great food and beverage at reasonable prices given the standard of resort and service received. Staff are impeccable delivering a luxurious experience in a no fuss manner. A small point, the spa facility does not match the standard of the overall facility though the massage itself was very good. We count our blessings in having stayed here, there aren’t many unspoilt beach destinations like this anymore, the facility, staff and F&B top it off. We hope to return one day.

Wonderful resort! Best place I have discovered in Sri Lanka...golden sands and no crowds. After staying here, I would not consider going to the south of Sri Lanka. Truly a world class experience, very well decorated and the tent like accommodations are the best!

An utterly unique experience. Amazing location and hotel. The staff are amazing and the management team are superb at making sure you feel special. We had the best week at Karpaha sands on this stunning beach amongst the most incredible nature. We will be back for sure and cant recommend the hotel enough.

Beautiful property on a gorgeous stretch of beach. Secluded and quiet, with private bungalows and an excellent restaurant. Beautiful private outdoor showers and big soaker bathtubs. The beds are firm but otherwise the bungalows are spacious and well equipped.

Stunning hotel. Loved the architecture and style, very contemporary and in harmony with the elements. My garden tented room was very comfy and the private garden / beach super secluded . The outdoor cascade shower was amongst luxuriant plants that got showered as I did! Excellent recycling of water! Staff was delightful. A special thanks to the wonderful Kapil at reception who got out of his way to help me get a train. Food was delicious. Pool was so amazing and the beach pretty wild. Very windy as it is the rainy season . I did get some rain, a full day of it. But got two days of sun / overcast. I still do not regret coming out of season. It was an excellent stay.

This is probably one of the most beautiful locations I have been to in Sri Lanka and I have been to so many. Absolutely stunning and magical. The rooms are super comfortable. And we just loved it. We really did not want to leave.

Stayed 4 nights early March. Beautiful, peaceful setting. We had one of the beachfront rooms which was perfect. Everything exceptionally clean. It is very remote and our driver struggled to find it. It is completely on its own, no other hotels nearby. There is a develpment of hotels about 20 minutes by tuk tuk if you wanted to go somewhere else to eat but no restaurants near Karpaha. However the restaurant at Karpaha was very good and we were happy to eat there. The only negative was that the hotel does not have an alcohol licence alhough we knew this and bought wine in Kandy to take with us. But because of this the bar area is lacking atmosphere and under used - it would have been nice to sit in the bar and have a drink before dinner. Apart from this small criticism, everything was perfect.
