Matthiol Serviced Apartments

Everything was excellent except the way to get to the hotel you need to walk up a steep hill prior to getting to the hotel. It is a little difficult for older individuals.

Not convinent, long steep walk way steps, to just get down to the service riad. The lights along the steps never on. Very dangerous walk back to the apartment at night.

Beautiful appartement with amazing view on the Matterhorn. We were a family of 8 staying in the 4 bedrooms penthouse. We loved our stay there and the wellness spa area was a lovely way to recover after a day of hiking. The only comment we have is about the kitchen supplies. If you want to cook a meal for 8 persons, there is very limited kitchen supplies. No scissors, no cutting board, no cheese grater, only 2 small cooking pans. We made a cheese fondue and there were only 6 cheese fondue forks. Luckily, we had friendly neighbors who landed us some extra forks :-)

Apartment was good, but don't stay here unless you want to hike up and down every time you want to leave the apartment (town or skiing). And certainly don't leave anything behind. They will claim it is not there and you will get your items stolen. You have to walk up a very steep, long and narrow way to reach the building. This must be done every single time you want to go to town or skiing. You are able to ski back into the building if you are able to ski to Cervo, take skis off, walk about 100m, put your skis back on and go down a hill behind the building. It's a partial ski in but not a ski out. The apartment itself was nice, but I had a huge issue at checkout. I left behind a scarf, sunglasses and a medicine bag and the staff was very nonchalant about trying to find it. I know for an absolute fact that I left all items inside the closet in the primary room. They were on the 3rd shelf, right hand side. I called the apartments about 3hs after we checked out (before the new guests checked in), when I realized I had left them behind. They said they would check with housekeeping. They called me about 5 minutes later to say nothing was found. I asked them if they checked inside the closet and they said yes, it's standard procedure. I asked them to ask the new guests checking in if they found anything. They refused but said they would call me back (never did). I followed up for 3 straight days and was told "we're not playing the police here". Never got my items back.

The property was great. Very roomy. Walking distance to old town and many restaurants. You do have to hike up to get to the apartment, which may be difficult for some people, but it's doable.

Simply a stellar view just far enough above town to be very private but close enough to be in the middle of everything., well appointed

Except for the difficult physical access to the building and unclear communication about check in and check out processes the apartment was great. It would help if they highlight that the hotel will provide taxi from and to the train station. We did not know that until we checked in and could not use it for check out because of lack of response to our message.

Really clean and exceptional apartment! Everything was set up perfectly and the location was great. The service was also excellent. Overall a great experience!

Excellent amenities. However The apartment is extremely difficult to find as it is hidden among several buildings and away from main roads and walkways. It was a kind local person who finally helped me to locate it. We spent 10 mins searching when the apartment was just 20 meters away.

Good location but hard to get to. Apartment was spacious and had great views. The apartment is nicely furnished.

I liked that it had great views of the materhorn but would be great if it had a more direct access to the property.

Exceptional quality!

Beautiful apartment with great view of the Matterhorn. Short distance from the hustle of the center of town but not too far. Beds were clean and comfortable. There were plenty of towels and toiletries were provided. On the lowest floor was a wellness facility with steam room and dry room. This would be a dream place for skiing in winter.

We had a nice stay. The accomodation suited our family of 5. Short walk into town. Nice partial views of the Matterhorn.

We arrived late at night and thought we could walk from the train station and followed our GPS and boy were we wrong! The apartment building is 300 steps from the nearest road and is a real steep climb with suitcases. Turns out there were still taxis running that late at night. The unit was a nice unit with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The problem is access. 2 in our group were over 65 and the access is a problem.

Everything was great except access to apartment was bit odd and can be difficult with lot of luggage as one had to walk up a lot. Overall loved the apartment stay

To be honest, the location of the hotel is not very convenient. It is far away from the main station / town by walking. No shuttle bus is provided for going in or out, but there is shuttle bus for departure and arrival. The hotel is at the middle of the mountain. We pushed all suitcases up to the hotel. It would not be easy if you travelled with kids or elderly. On the other hand, we were not very happy with the security. Our door was opened by strangers in the morning on the check out day. We were all very shocked. We did not know who the men were. They opened then closed and walked away. It was weird. However, the house was nice and the view was good.
