Sunshine On The Rock

Beach is so nice. You can do kayak and surf for free, just deposit money and you can get return after finish. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is quite far but you can have a peaceful beach here :)

Positives: First off, the beach is amazingly beautiful, and if there's a problem, the staff will do their best to assist. They take great care of the plant life, walkways etc. in the main part of the resort (Sunshine, not on the rocks) and maybe On The Rocks is heading in that direction too. Also they care about sea life, having notes about not chasing crabs and cleaning the sea from plastic waste. The AC works. The bungalow's bathroom could fit a family. There is no annoying animation or music going on. Downsides: The location is hard to reach by bike because the dirt road is partially badly maintained. To rent a bike directly with the resort, you have to deposit your passport which is a bad joke as a traveller and pay 300 THB per day. Better get it somewhere else. The breakfast is really no joy - "milk" is some chemical mixture that contains 11% milk, and the scrambled egg they offer is half cooked, salted on one corner obviously after cooking. Don't try and tell them about dietary restrictions. Basic modifications to the food selection such as "no tomato" are understood though. The cabins exude a very dark and cold appearance with simultaneously uncomfortably bright blue-white lighting inside. For the foot-cleaning water hoses at the bungalow entrance, there's no water pressure whatsoever, so good luck getting your feet cleaned from beach sand etc. To balance that, the pressure of the shower and the butt-gun is enormous, be careful not to hurt your precious parts. Mosquito nets only cover the bed with a lot of original approaches, and they have holes. Our AC had some clinking noises which made it kind of tricky to let run for sleeping at night.

I loved my stay here, i will absolutely stay again! I was here for 7 nights. There rooms where big, clean and comfy, there was hot water for the shower. The complimentary breakfast was great! But the food at the restaurant was just okay(there a few other options down the beach too) smoothies and desserts were great! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful and a great spot on the island to catch the sunset. It's far from the main area if you don't drive a scooter but if you do its only a 10 to 15 min ride. I highly recommend staying here!

Big quiet bungalows in a beautiful part of the island. Little far from everything, but that's the beauty of it. Great breakfast and the beach is also fantastic!
