Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay

Overall a nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff, delicious food, great views at sunrise with easy access to the ocean and a protected area for snorkeling. The rooms look recently updated rooms and are comfortable. I had issues with the AC in two rooms during my stay, but the staff was helpful and moved me into a functional room each time. So other than the inconvenience of changing rooms it was a great stay! And the tiki bar is great!

If it wasn’t for the location I would give 0 stars. When we checked in we were given a room infested with cockroaches. Absolutely disgusting. I went to let them know at the front desk and at first they acted like it wasn’t an issue and said they’d have the room “deep cleaned”. It wasn’t until I came back to the front desk with a dead cockroach I killed from inside the room when they finally decided to move us rooms. They also charged for maid service every day even thought the maids only cleaned our room 3 times in an 8 day stay. Also they don’t tell you this but they charge $25 a night for parking and there is very limited parking on premises and no other options to park for free nearby. There was a night when some of the people staying there were parking on the lawn under the trees because there was no other parking options. Also they ran multiple payments on our card without a clear heads up or what the charges were actually for. At the time of check out they had over $800 on hold for our credit card which is absolutely insane for a security deposit especially for a hotel infested with cockroaches. We are very disappointed and this is not the quality we associate with the Hilton brand…

This place is simply just fine. The hotel in the main areas is nice, but the rooms are dated and used up. The location is great to access all parts of the island with ease. All of the staff is ok, Curtis was the only one that was great. The only reason to stay here is the location, in the future I'll be staying at another nearby hotel.

I recently had an exceptional stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, but what truly made our experience stand out was the remarkable professionalism of the manager, Lelia. Lelia went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, ensuring that every detail of our stay was perfect. Her attention to detail and genuine care for the guests made a world of difference. Whether it was arranging special amenities or providing local recommendations, she handled everything with a level of grace and efficiency that is hard to come by. The hotel itself is beautiful, with comfortable rooms and stunning views of Wailua Bay. The location is ideal for exploring the island, and the facilities are top-notch. However, it was Lelia’s exceptional service that truly made our visit unforgettable. We left feeling appreciated and excited to return, and we plan to stay there again very soon. If you’re considering a stay in Kauai, this hotel is a must, and be sure to look out for Lelia—she is a true asset to the Hilton Garden Inn!

The location next to the beach and minutes from the airport and local restaurants and shops is unbeatable. I spent many days just lounging on the pool deck or in the pool watching the waves crash on the beach. I appreciated the pool being in the afternoon shade. But the place is looking tired. Windows were filthy. Rust stains on exterior AC vents. The AC units are loud and kept us up at night. The AC unit smelled bad when not running, suggesting maintenance needs improvement. The bathroom was large but had a basic bathtub. We would have enjoyed a couch in our room instead of a table and chairs. The daily resort fee and parking fee is just a cash grab. We got good service from the restaurant and housekeeping staff, but they missed our room one day. The ice machine closest to our room was not working. The laundry machines were unavailable as other guests had damaged them and parts have to come from the mainland.
