First and foremost, it was incredibly clean. Zero complaints there. It’s a very old building. But in a cool, eclectic way. With that being said, everything is very dated. Again, it’s very clean, but also dated. None of the amenities/“extras“ you come to expect from even the lowest priced modern day hotels. No temperature control for your individual room. We had to get extra blankets to stay warm. Also, I’m sure this is the case with any place on Ocean Drive, but if you’re a light sleeper, you do not want to stay at a hotel in this location. The atmosphere is alive and happening very late into the night and you are right on top of it.
But overall, we felt like the cons were pretty much acceptable based on the fact that we were only there for one night and for the price.

This hotel needs a lot of tlc. Location is great but hotel is dirty, old (dated) and very noisy. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from indoors to outdoors. The elevator was out and we were charged a resort fee of $28.50. We asked what amenities were included in the fee and we were told wifi and location!? I would not stay here again.

While the price was right, I probably won’t stay here again.
The elevator was many many decades old and super sketchy. Lobby very dated. There was a lot of noise from the hallway and outside which kept me awake for a while.
Stains on the sink, no cups to drink water with, and only half glass in the shower which wasn’t even completely clean. Overall it was just ok. Won’t choose this hotel again though.

The hotel AC is central and they keep it rather warm, I couldn’t sleep well. The windows don’t open so not an alternative. The noise on the hallways is pretty bad, you can feel it as if it was inside your room. Location is great and staff are friendly.

The outside patio is not usable for guests staying at the hotel at night. Other businesses in the area use it for concessions and rent the space so you have to go somewhere else and find a place to sit. Very inconvenient and the vendors that rent the space are rude.

The hole establishment had a smell to it and the bedding was hard and uncomfortable. There was also many broken things in the room and it has a central cooling system and the room was so hot .

Website images are not exactly what was experienced. Lobby was dark, dated, no garbage can in the area, front desk employees were not welcoming, note posted on the elevator warning about human trafficking; this did not make us feel safe at all, only 1 elevator and had to take the stairs due to long wait; housekeeping using for movement of laundry/sheets and guestroom was pretty gross (old sofas with stains and was not well kept.

Love the location and close proximity to the beach. There are also many restaurants and shops nearby. Unfortunately we missed part of our stay due to flight delays. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The elevator is a bit sketchy

Location was excellent. The Housekeeping was every two days. Decor dated. TV was only streaming and with an internet reception cutting out every 10-20 seconds it was awful to watch anything, not to mention emailing etc. No cable programming and so if you enjoy watching sports or news, run away. Parking by valet $40/ day.
I would not recommend this hotel if your stay is longer than one day.

The location is amazing and the historical interior of the hotel is impressive. Sadly, the room interior is very poor: windows with bolts of paint and caulk, damaged iron, a hair dryer is about to die, a bath tub is there but doesn't work so I could use the shower only. The listing mentioned a coffee maker and a ceiling fan, which are not provided indeed.

This hotel is not as pictured at all and when we arrived we really thought we were in the wrong hotel. The whole place seemed very dirty and like it was a front for bad things. We went to look at the room and the elevator and hallways and room just was not anything close to clean or acceptable. They didn’t even have a luggage cart and ocean drive was closed so we were supposed to walk 3 blocks with our luggage. We ended up not staying because it was nothing like we booked. The only thing good was the front desk gal was very nice , not her fault it was misrepresented and it just didn’t feel safe there

Hotel is really old. There’s no thermostat in the room to control the temperature. The floors were uneven and cracked a lot.
The room was clean and the front desk staff was nice. $100 deposit, $28 resort fee and $40 for parking. The staff allowed us to check in early. Hotel is in the heart of South Beach on Ocean drive
