Best Western Plus Daphne Inn & Suites

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Daphne Inn & Suites while evacuating from Hurricane Helene on 9/25/24, and our experience was an absolute nightmare. Around midnight on our first night, my wife woke up screaming in terror because **a cockroach was crawling on her in the bed**. This was a horrifying experience, especially after the stress of evacuating from a hurricane. We were both so shaken that we couldn't sleep for the rest of the night. We immediately went down to the reception to report what had happened and to let them know we would be checking out first thing in the morning. Shockingly, the person at the front desk couldn't have cared less. He was completely unapologetic, acting like this was just another normal day at the Best Western. To add insult to injury, the **general manager refused to give us a refund**, despite the disgusting and traumatizing experience. When we asked for the general manager’s name, the **Black woman working the front desk refused to provide it** and wouldn't even give us her own name. Instead, she rudely suggested that my wife and I must have **brought the cockroach** into the hotel ourselves! This level of disrespect and complete lack of customer service is beyond appalling. Do yourself a favor and **avoid this hotel at all costs**. Not only is it infested, but the staff clearly has no regard for guest safety or well-being. What a horrible experience!

We stayed one night while passing through with our truck and trailer, which we could park easily in their lot. The rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was above average and we were glad we found this place last minute with a late arrival too.

I'm not sure how this hotel rates as a 3-star. The website does a good marketing job, but the exterior wasn't as welcoming as pictured & our room had only been updated cosmetically. There was an awful odor that I guess was deodorizer to cover the mustiness & VERY strong, almost sickening. The mattress/ box spring definitely needs replacing along with the pillows. The AC unit cover looked new, but the visible parts underneath are old & rusted, possibly the reason for the noise and strong deodorizer? Clean for the most part except for the large stain on the carpet. One lamp was broken and another probably needed a new bulb. The staff was efficient but rarely seen. Do yourself a favor and stay at one of the other 3 hotels in close proximity.

Great experience with awesome staff!!! The breakfast was excellent! Ms. Marcia and Mr. Yusef made sure we had everything we needed. The housekeeping staff were so nice. The people at the desk were helpful and kind. Mr Willie even prayed with my family when we were having a hard time. We truly enjoyed our stay!

We checked in mentioned the third-party site pricing she complained she'd have to do a refund. We checked in, around 8:30 in the morning we got to knock on the door. Went to breakfast it was hard and horrible coffee was cold biscuits were crunchy. Went back to the room. Room service not the second time at 10:30. Check out is not till 11:00 and we had do not disturb on the door. We were not happy about our stay. We would not recommend staying here
