BLVD Hotel and Studios Universal-Hollywood, Ascend Hotel Collection

Lovely property, the parking is a bit tricky but it is LA. Will stay here again

We enjoyed our stay, the place was very clean, and we would love to come back again!

Everything at this hotel was falling apart. The showers didn’t work very well. There were chairs that were broken and some of the lamps didn’t work. At the prices they charge the upkeep is simply unacceptable.

The maintenance and upkeep of this property is unacceptable. If the rooms were half of what they are charging now, it would probably be worth it, but it is not worth it at the prices that they charge.

I'm not sure how Expedia gave 3.5 stars to this property. Rooms were below average, more like motel rooms. Photos uploaded on Expedia are deceptive. Very few amenities. Property deserves 3 or maybe 2.5 stars so that people can take proper decision based on ratings/prices before booking the place. Parking was easy. Very close to Universal if someone is planning to visit.

I didn’t like the fact you have to pay to park and an additional 100 dollars for incidentals that where who knows what so my two night stay was over 1000 bucks not planning on going back

We paid good money to stay in a hotel that was fairly close to Universal Studios. We expected to have a couch with two beds so our family could all sleep comfortably. We got into our room and there was chipped paint, dirty bathroom floor, the furniture had been taped together, the outlets didn’t have covers on them. When we went downstairs to eat breakfast, there wasn’t a decent breakfast option- there was a convenience store with terrible gas station food for us ago PURCHASE (after already spending $500 on two nights to stay) and just a tiny coffee carafe for us to serve ourselves. We wanted to relax by the indoor pool and it wasn’t heated nor was the pool area.. and it was about 45 degrees- so going into a cold pool at night was not what we hoped for. The lobby was clean and the staffing was nice at the front desk but I will not be staying there again. Not to mention there were homeless people all around.

Close to a lot of places, very quite and clean will definitely stay again😊

We were not warned that the AC/Heating unit was not working. It was a low of 45 degrees and we were very cold. Apart from that the bedding was also terrible. One part of the bed sunk more than the other, and they did not have full sized pillows. Overall, it was an uncomfortable night. The place looks decent in the pictures but don’t expect to be comfortable.

Walking distance to Universal Studios. Friendly staff. Very thin walls.

Shower- almost unable to shower, pressure inexistent…. Parking was advertised in Expedia description of the hotel to be free but it is 34 dollars per night. Location is ok, can’t really walk unless you want to hike up the steep long hill- another misinformation by Expedia describing this hotel as a walking distance. Rooms are clean and spacious but not worth the price.

Perfect location for Universal Studios, it is within walking distance to the Universal Studios shuttle. Just note there are homeless people in the area, but we never felt unsafe. Omar at the front desk went above and beyond for everything that we needed! Omar rocks!!!

The property was close to Universal, if you wanted to hoof it up hill you could walk within 20 or so minutes . Otherwise a 5-7 minute walk took you to the tram that was super convenient for park entry. The room and property was clean and welcoming. It would be nice to have a small continental breakfast, but they had a 24/7 market that helped. Also a cute little donut shop with a great breakfast selection a few doors down. Would absolutely stay here again!!!

Second time at this hotel and did not have a good experience. Worst people were right next door, which is no one’s fault. But the walls are thin and we heard everything all night long. Shower had no water pressure at all, very hard to shower. Security lock was missing screws and dangling from the door. No ice maker on first or second floor and no heater, instead portable room heater. Also had to move lamps because the lamp in between the beds had plugs that were too loose to charge a phone.
